chapter262
“Blair! Thank heavens you’re back! Look at this woman–she pushed
me!”
Blair frowned, his gaze shifting to Bianca without speaking.
Feeling his eyes, she looked up and saw the question in them.
She offered a faint smile before turning back to the kitchen.
Blair Avery’s eyes never held a trace of trust for her.
Since there wasn’t any, she couldn’t be bothered to explain more.
Blair didn’t follow her, but instead turned back to look at Maxine who
had fallen on the floor.
Maxine saw Blair looking at her and said, “I just wanted some porridge. She was already making breakfast, but she made so little. It’s not like she doesn’t know how many people are in the house.”
Between the lines, Maxine’s words were full of complaints about Bianca Watts.
Hearing this, Blair didn’t argue back. Instead, he bent down to help Maxine up.
After helping Maxine to the couch, Blair said, “I’ll go check on her.”
With that, he headed toward the kitchen.
Bianca had turned the stove back on. She stood in front of the stove,

her face covered in sweat and exhaustion.
When Blair came over, he stood beside her and said, “Auntie wants some porridge. You should make a bit more.”
Bianca hadn’t slept all night and was exhausted.
Hearing Blair say that now made her feel even more choked up.
She clenched her teeth, took a deep breath, and said, “If you want to do
it, go ahead. I’m only making it for Winnie.”
Blair saw Bianca’s reddened eyes with dark circles underneath.
But her words made him frown.
After a moment of silence, Blair asked, “You weren’t like this before. Why are you acting this way now?
It’s just making a little more porridge. It’s not a big deal.”
Bianca couldn’t hold back anymore. She turned and glared at Blair, saying angrily, “Blair, you said it yourself: that was before. People change. No one stays the same forever, and that includes me.”
Blair rarely saw Bianca lose her temper, but lately it had become
common.
He couldn’t help but wonder if she thought he and Winnie were a burden to her now.
At that thought, Blair got inexplicably worked up. He snapped at Bianca, “If you’re sick, go see a doctor. Yelling at me won’t help.”
Bianca froze at his words. She stared at him blankly for a long time, then finally let out a bitter laugh and said, “Blair, you’re right. I am

sick. I was blind to have fallen for you. I was a fool to think I could tie you down with a child. Bianca Watts is a big idiot, a complete moron.”
Seeing how upset she was, Blair suddenly wondered if his words had been too harsh.
He stepped forward to grab her arm, but Bianca swatted his hand away. “Blair, don’t touch me. I don’t want you touching me.
She was so agitated that her whole body was shaking.
She was still holding a spoon. She had just put the rice in the pot and hadn’t stirred it yet when Blair came in.
Seeing her tremble, Blair felt a pang of panic. He reached out again, trying to comfort Bianca.
But before he could touch her, she hurled the spoon at him.
Blair didn’t have time to dodge. The spoon hit his forehead hard.
Blair felt a sharp pain on his temple. He touched it and found a little blood on his fingertips.
