chapter288
Elvin tried to embrace her, but the moment he leaned in, she inexplicably remembered him kissing Diane Huffman.
A wave of revulsion washed over Bianca. She shoved him away sharply and scrambled off the hospital bed.
Standing barefoot on the floor, she finally spoke. “Forget last night. Those identities you assumed as ‘Mr. He‘–I never agreed to any of it.”
With that, she slipped on her shoes, took Jenna’s hand, and said, “Jenna, let’s go.”
Jenna didn’t understand what was happening but followed Bianca’s lead.
As they headed for the door, Davis suddenly called out, “Sis, are you misunderstanding Elvin?
If there’s any confusion, you’ve got to talk to him. I know Elvin’s character best–you’re truly the only one in his heart.”
Bianca paused at his words. After a moment, she turned back to Davis. “Davis, thank you for keeping me company today. I really appreciate it. And of course, I’m grateful Mr. He came too. But there are no misunderstandings between Mr. He and me.”
When Bianca turned to leave again, Davis seemed ready to say more, but Elvin stopped him. “Davis, let it go.”
Frowning at Elvin, Davis insisted, “She’s clearly misunderstanding something. Let me explain it to her.”

Elvin gripped Davis’s arm, lowering his eyes with a bitter smile. “From start to finish, her heart only ever held Blair.”
Davis remained uneasy. “Elvin, you should still talk to her face–to- face.”
Elvin shook his head, his gaze drifting to the empty doorway where Bianca had vanished. A desolate laugh escaped him. “Davis, I lost.”
Davis snapped, “Nonsense! You’re Elvin. How could you lose?
How is that even possible?”
Elvin’s eyes reddened. He fought to control himself, but his voice turned hoarse instantly. “Losing to Bianca Watts? Not such a bad defeat, I suppose.”
Davis patted his shoulder, heart aching, suddenly at a loss for comforting words.
Elvin offered a bleak smile. “Let’s go. She probably doesn’t need me anymore. I’m just… superfluous.”
Despite the fury, the unwillingness, the helplessness churning inside him, Elvin saw no path forward except departure.
Before Bianca Watts, he could never measure up to Blair Avery.
Meanwhile, Bianca and Jenna took the elevator downstairs and headed to the hospital garden.
Only when they reached the pavilion did Jenna voice her confusion. “Weren’t we going to see Blair and Winnie Avery?

Why come here?”
Bianca sank onto the stone bench, ignoring Jenna’s question as her eyes welled up.
Seeing her distress, Jenna walked over, wrapped her in a hug, and asked gently, “Sweetie, what happened?”
Bianca Watts offered no explanation, merely tucking her face against Jenna’s chest as she murmured, “I need to hold you.”
Jenna asked no further questions, stroking Bianca’s hair as she replied, “You should’ve told me you were at the hospital. I’d have come immediately.”
Bianca mumbled into her collar, “I’m sorry, Jenna.”
Jenna let out a soft chuckle. “All those harsh words earlier… you didn’t mean them, did you?”
Bianca didn’t answer directly, whispering instead, “Let’s pretend it was a bad dream. It’ll be better when we wake.”
With Jenna around, Bianca didn’t overthink things and felt much better.
During their chat, Bianca asked about Allan.
Jenna said Allan had been trying to contact her lately, but she ignored
him.
She’d painfully severed their eight–year relationship like tearing flesh from bone.
The love was real, but so was the disappointment.
Allan had not only cheated and abused her but treated Jenna as a
plaything.
Bianca felt relieved seeing Jenna end things proactively.
Suddenly, a puzzled voice came from behind: “Mrs. Avery?”
Bianca turned to see Mrs. Leach.
