chapter291
Elroy lowered his raised hand, smiling gently. “Of course you can.”
He certainly didn’t want his sister to remarry, but if she insisted on remarrying, he hoped she would choose Berry.
Mentioning Kellie, Bianca quickly asked, “Brother, aren’t you staying home with Kellie?”
Elroy replied, “She’s packing for the weekend trip at home. By the way. she asked me to check if you can still join her for the autumn outing this weekend?”
Though called an autumn outing, it was already early winter.
Remembering her promise to Kellie, Bianca said, “I’ll go. I promised Kellie, so I won’t back out.”
Elroy wanted to stay with Bianca, but she eventually convinced him to leave.
Two days after the flu passed, Bianca had mostly recovered.
But late into the night, she started running a fever again.
Half–asleep, she heard the hospital room door open from outside.
The lights were off, and the corridor light spilled in when the door opened.
A blurred figure appeared in the dimness.

241 Wonchire
Bianca couldn’t see clearly but assumed it was Elvin.
So she called out hoarsely, “Elvin?”
As she spoke, Bianca distinctly saw the approaching figure pause.
Gradually, she recognized the face–it wasn’t Elvin, but Blair.
When Blair sat by the bed, he reached out to touch Bianca’s forehead.
Finding her feverish, he pressed the call button for a nurse to bring fever reducer.
After the nurse brought medication and water, Blair helped Bianca take the pills.
Once she swallowed them, he looked down at her sweat–drenched face and asked, “Does he often come to see you?”
The question came abruptly. Bianca took a moment to realize “he” meant Elvin.
Despite her exhaustion, her tone turned sharp. “Blair, that’s none of your business, is it?”
Blair kept gazing at her silently before replying, “We’re still married.”
Bianca laughed coldly. “Only bound by that piece of paper. Without it, we’re nothing.”
After another silence, Blair asked, “What would you do without that document?”
“Guess,” Bianca retorted with a bitter chuckle. Truthfully, she had no answer herself.

Blair didn’t respond but continued staring intently.
After resting with closed eyes, Bianca felt slightly better.
Noticing Blair hadn’t left, she asked curiously, “Aren’t you going home?”
Blair finally spoke. “Winnie asked me to stay with you.”
Bianca doubted his words.
Blair had always treated her with indifference–he’d never stay voluntarily.
Compared to him, she found Winnie’s involvement more believable.
Bianca stayed silent, but Blair’s phone rang just then.
She glanced sideways and saw Diane’s caller ID
This time, however, Blair didn’t answer. He muted the call instead.
His uncharacteristic reaction left Bianca puzzled.
She was still puzzled when Blair stood up and said: “You’re all sweaty.
I’ll get some hot water to wipe you down so you can rest better.”
Before Bianca could refuse, Blair’s phone pinged with a text.
Blair glanced at his phone, his brows furrowing.
After a moment’s hesitation, he looked down at Bianca and said: “I need to head over there now. I’ll come back later.”
With that, he turned and left without hesitation.
28 Woucher’s
Seeing how decisively he walked away, Bianca couldn’t help but smile.
She wouldn’t actually wait for him. Though feeling sticky and uncomfortable, bedtime had come she needed her rest.
Heller Bar.
The lights were dim and hazy.

Three men sat in the VIP booth on the second floor.
Adam Nguyen was the last to arrive. By the time he got there, two bottles of red wine were already open on the table.
Elvin sat in the corner, having already downed over a bottle himself.
