chapter 292
Davis kept him company, his words of comfort drying up long ago, yet Elvin kept gulping down the wine.
Sensing trouble, Adam sat beside Davis and asked, “What’s going on?”
Davis sighed helplessly. “What else? Heartbroken, of course.
Matters of the heart were beyond Adam’s expertise.
He stayed silent. Davis added, “He’s been like this all day. You try talking to him.”
Adam spread his palms. “I’m afraid I can’t help either.”
The two exchanged helpless glances, clearly at a loss with Elvin.
The music thumped loudly downstairs. Colorful lights flashed, and the dance floor pulsed with wild energy.
The bar was alive with noise, yet Elvin’s heart ached with emptiness.
Thinking of what Bianca had said that morning sent stabs of pain through his chest.
They’d agreed–he would be her lover.
But just one night later, she’d changed her mind.
A woman’s heart is truly made of stone.
The more Elvin thought about it, the angrier he became. He slammed

his wine glass onto the table. “Liar! Bianca Watts, you’re nothing but a liar!”
The glass shattered instantly. Shards embedded themselves in his palm.
He felt no pain, only tears welling in eyes filled with torment and anguish.
Davis watched, heart aching. “Brother Qi, why torture yourself like this?
If you really want her, go get her back.
Adam immediately interjected. “It’s illegal to take by force. Stay rational.”
Davis shot him an annoyed look. “Now’s not the time to be professional. Brother Qi’s life is on the line here.”
Adam pressed his lips together and fell silent.
Elvin hadn’t heard a word of their exchange. He glanced down at his bleeding palm, then stumbled to his feet.
“Brother Qi, where are you going?”
Worried, Davis stood up too.
Elvin headed for the exit. “I’m going to find her. Don’t follow me.”
Around one in the morning, Bianca got up to use the bathroom.
As she stepped out, the dim light from the window revealed someone sitting in the chair beside her hospital bed.

Remembering Blair’s parting words, she assumed it was him.
Her voice icy, she said, “Blair, I told you I don’t need-”
Before she could finish, the figure stood up abruptly.
When he turned, Bianca froze. It wasn’t Blair. It was Elvin.
The next instant, Elvin grabbed her and threw her onto the bed.

As Bianca landed flat on her back, Elvin leaned over her. Kneeling with his legs trapping her sides, he easily pinned her down, leaving her nowhere to escape.
The pungent scent of alcohol instantly poured into Bianca Watts‘ nostrils, choking her until her heart tightened and ached.
Elvin’s hand was wrapped in gauze, yet fresh blood was already seeping through the palm, staining it a startling crimson.
His eyes burned crimson in the thick darkness as he stared into Bianca’s eyes, scoffing lowly, “Look at me. Who am I?”
Bianca struggled weakly, but Elvin pinned her down completely, leaving her nowhere to hide.
Though their bodies pressed close, Elvin supported his entire weight on his own knees, bearing none of it onto Bianca.
Seeing his bloodshot eyes and near–loss of control, Bianca still called out his name, “Elvin. You’re Elvin.”
The tension in Elvin’s body eased. He gently rested his forehead against Bianca’s.
His face was so close their breaths mingled intimately.

Elvin said nothing, just kept staring into Bianca’s eyes with a gaze so sharp it seemed to pierce through her.
Unsettled by his stare, Bianca asked with a trembling voice. “H–how did you get here?”
The moment she spoke, Elvin buried his face beside her neck,
whispering almost inaudibly, “Because I’m worthless. I just had to see you.”
