He stood at least 1.9 meters tall, his posture perfectly upright with broad shoulders tapering to a lean waist. His Adam’s apple peeked from the slightly loosened collar of his black shirt, and his toned arms amplified both his sensual appeal and domineering aura.
Charlotte’s heart skipped a beat, and she didn’t even dare to look up at him.
She had been terrified of him since little.
He was twenty–eight this year, eight years older than her.
She had never seen him smile, not even once. Whenever she saw him, he had always worn that distant, icy look on his face. Everyone in town knew he kept his distance from women. Some wondered if he wasn’t into them to begin with or if he was “not up to the task“.
Charlotte used to be one of them.
But that night made her realize how ridiculous those rumors were.
He was extraordinarily capable in bed. To be more precise, his stamina was terrifying. Even now, she could vividly recall how achingly sore her body had been the next morning. The memory alone was enough to send shivers down her spine.
“Mr. Gregory, take a seat.” A servant pulled out the chair next to Charlotte and set out the utensils.
Gregory sat down deadpan and then nodded at Gordon and Kathy politely.

Kieran said with a smile, “Everyone, dig in.”
Evelin squeezed out a slightly ingratiating smile and said to Gordon and Kathy, “Try this fish. We had it caught fresh this morning especially for today’s lunch.
“All young people argue sometimes. We can’t just call off the engagement over one little spat, right?
“Perhaps Timo can take Lottie out for some shopping this afternoon. If he’s done something wrong, tell him. I’m sure he’ll make it right in time.”
Her smile was almost groveling.
It hurt Timothy’s pride, and he was seething with rage.
Over the years, Charlotte had always been his loyal simp, doing whatever he told her to do.
Since she dared to be so disrespectful to him, he ought to give her a proper lesson. Why should he and Evelin debase themselves to suck up to her?
“Mom, that’s enough. If Charlotte wants out of this engagement, who are we to stand in her way?” he said coldly.
“Timo, what are you talking about? Come on. Go ahead and say something nice to Lottie,” Evelin said, keeping signaling him with her
eyes.
But he pretended not to see it and looked at Charlotte icily. His tone turned even sterner as he threatened, “Make no mistake, Charlotte. If you insist on calling off the engagement, you can forget about patching things up with me ever again.”
He was so sure that Charlotte would panic if he cut ties with her for good.

There was no way she could bear to leave him. She’d submit and come crawling back to him.
At this, he stood up decisively. “Sorry, but I’m full.”
With that, he walked out.
Charlotte stood up, too. “Wait, Timothy.”
Already turning around, he paused slightly, beaming inside.
He knew it. She was too attached to him.
Turning back, he said, his tone slightly complacent, “Yes?”
She walked toward him while taking out a piece of paper from her bag. “Here’s a list of all the expensive gifts I’ve bought for you and the major expenses from our trips abroad. I didn’t bother with petty cash expenses. Just return what’s on this list.
The smile on Timothy’s face froze.
He looked at her in great disbelief.
“You chose to give me those gifts and spend money on me. Why should I give them back?”
She shrugged. “Men tend to demand gifts and expenses back, right? Why
can’t I?”
Timothy was so furious that he gritted his teeth and pointed at her, spitting, “Charlotte, enough is enough.”
Glancing at the Patek Philippe watch on his wrist, she added flatly, “I gave you that watch. Now, I want it back, too.”
