“Bitch, you’re finally in my hands this time!”

She clutched the rag doll in her hand, not daring to move.

In the distance, a red glow flickered, Blake was smoking.

He slowly exhaled a smoke ring, his voice cold as he spoke to Chloe: “Finish the ritual quickly. We have to send her back before dawn.”

“Chloe, I even tied up my own girlfriend for you. How are you going to thank me?”

A blush crept onto Chloe’s face, but as she turned to look at me, her eyes immediately

became vicious.

“Skylar, you should feel lucky that I chose you.”

“Just get through tonight…”

My eyes widened, watching helplessly as she cut a lock of her own hair, then slowly walked towards me.

Was that familiar fear of death from my previous life beginning to spread in my heart again?

Could it be that this time, I still couldn’t escape the same fate?

My entire body trembled uncontrollably. I tried to dodge her hand as she reached out to cut my hair, but I couldn’t move at all.

Noticing my struggle, Chloe whispered softly in my ear: “Though I don’t know what kind of spell you cast on my brother, he actually told me not to harm you at all.”

“But soon, you’ll feel an inexplicable agony and suddenly die.”

“And when that happens, you can’t blame it on me, can you~”

Her tone was light, like she was playing a game of house, as she braided our two strands of hair into a knot and tucked them into a small cloth pouch.

Then, she took Blake’s lighter, ignited the pouch, and watched it burn to ashes.

Blake stood by, clicking his tongue in amazement, his eyes fixed on Chloe’s every move.

“Chloe, if you do it this way, will you really get better?”

Chloe’s eyes sparkled. She carefully sprinkled the ashes onto the doll she always carried.

“Soon, we can be openly together, brother.”

As the two of them were lost in their future fantasies, I lowered my head, a cold smile secretly playing on my lips.

The more triumphant Chloe was now, the more she would crumble when she discovered

the truth.

I was, truly, looking forward to that moment.

After a moment of thought, I raised my head, feigning panic to add fuel to the fire.

“Blake, what exactly are you two doing?”

“Why are you taking my hair? I feel so dizzy…”

Chloe and Blake exchanged glances, then excitedly blurted out, “It worked!”

She snatched up the doll, pulled out a necklace, and quickly fastened it around its neck.

Then, she stared intently at me, gripping the necklace tightly with both hands.

So, in my previous life, I was strangled to death by this very necklace.

Seeing my lack of reaction, Chloe squeezed harder.

“How could this be…?”

She murmured to herself, her gaze darting between me and the doll.

She tried several more times, but I remained perfectly unharmed, sitting in the chair.

Blake, seeing this, instantly lost his temper and slammed an ashtray to the floor.

“Chloe, I knew you were talking nonsense! What shared sensation, what illness transfer,

you must be completely insane!”

“I must have been out of my mind to believe your crazy stories!”

But the moment he looked at me, his expression changed instantly.

He hurried over, intending to untie me, but the next second, Chloe suddenly convulsed, her tongue lolling out, her eyes rolling back.

“Don’t… don’t move…”

Blake didn’t notice the commotion behind him, only smiling apologetically at me. “Skylar, I was wrong this time. My brain must’ve been fried. Will you please forgive me this once?”

Hearing Chloe’s agonizing screams behind him, he impatiently turned around. “Are you still going to play your ghostly tricks-”

“Ah-!”

Chloe was already on the ground, her hands desperately clutching her own throat, as if

possessed by something.

Blake was scared out of his wits, scrambling and crawling towards the exit.

“It’s haunted!”
