Chapter 14
With solid evidence, Nicole was left speechless.
Alexander stood up abruptly from the desk, glaring down at her with unconcealed fury.
Nicole lowered her head as the air turned icy, the silence becoming suffocating.
A text notification suddenly popped up–revealing Nicole had sent Jennifer a fabricated paternity test that night, making her believe Edward was Alexander and Nicole’s secret love child.
Alexander clenched his fist, his gaze sharpening like daggers.
“You’re quite the schemer. I never imagined you’d sink this low.”
Nicole couldn’t meet his eyes, feeling scorched by the inferno in his stare,
As Alexander turned to leave, she scrambled across the floor and grabbed his pant leg.
“Don’t abandon us! Please, don’t throw us out!”
He shook her off violently. “This isn’t over. I genuinely wanted to care for you both, but you and your son–every move reeks of calculation.
Scheming against me. Scheming against Jennifer.”
Nicole collapsed when kicked away, her body limp and unresponsive.
Edward rushed to help her up, terrified by the scene.
Chapter 14
Alexander drove straight to a bar and ordered the strongest liquor.
The glass trembled in his hand, mirroring the turmoil in his chest.
Since Jennifer left, that hollow ache never healed.
The harsh alcohol burned his throat, leaving a bitter aftertaste.
Through the haze, Jennifer’s kindness finally crystallized in his mind.
The liquor’s heat flushed his face, nearly making him stumble.
She’d planned her exit all along.
That’s why she signed the divorce papers without hesitation.
Alexander slammed his fist onto the bar–the pain sharpening his resolve. He wouldn’t let Nicole escape this. She’d repay every ounce of deception.
Returning home, everything seemed undisturbed.
He showered, then sat scrolling through Nicole’s documented schemes.
With each revelation, dread coiled tighter in his gut. He made another
call.
“Find Jennifer. Whatever it takes.”
He’d believed he still cared for Nicole. Even learning about Edward, he’d planned to welcome the boy.
But mother and son had been plotting to seize the Smith fortune for years.
Jennifer was just their first casualty.
Nicole huddled with Edward in her room. If she could sway Alexander’s

heart, all wasn’t lost.
So she rose at dawn to buy groceries.
Returning home, she found their belongings being tossed out piece by piece.
“What are you doing?
Stop this now!”
She grabbed the burly man’s arm, only to be shoved aside.
Nicole fell hard, groceries scattering across the ground.
Her clothes, handbags, jewelry–all hurled onto the lawn.
Edward’s shoes and clothes followed in a heap.
“Mr. Smith’s orders,” the man stated flatly. “He never wants to see you or your son again.”
The villa door slammed shut, leaving them in the driveway’s silence.
Alexander, open the door! You can’t treat us like this!
You can’t do this to Edward and me.
Nicole pounded on the door, hysterical.
Soon the door slowly opened, and Edward was tossed out too.
“Mom, does Uncle Alexander really not want us anymore?
Is it because we bullied Aunt Jennifer?”
Chapter 14
Nicole lowered her eyes. “No, no.
Your Uncle Alexander won’t abandon us.”
A black Rolls–Royce drove past them, and Alexander stepped out.
Seeing them still there, he told the driver: “If they’re still here when I come down after changing, you’ll find yourself unemployed.”
Spotting Alexander approaching, Nicole scrambled to his feet wailing. “Let us in! You can’t abandon us! You promised you’d take care of me!”
Alexander coldly lifted her chin. “I took care of you. And how did you repay me?
Was framing me your way of returning the favor?”
Edward cried nearby until Alexander’s icy glare silenced him.
“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. You’re just as guilty for framing Jennifer and making her fall downstairs.”
Alexander didn’t spare them another glance, striding back inside immediately.
Nicole wept mute with tears on the ground. Only when the door shut did
the driver emerge.
“Miss Harris, leave now or face consequences.”
“I’m going, I’m going.”
Nicole staggered up, gathering Edward. They collected scattered. belongings from the messy ground, but she only kept essential jewelry.
When Alexander reappeared, he ordered the driver to burn all that

garbage.
From then on, nothing belonging to them would remain in this house.
Alexander froze all Nicole’s cards, pressuring companies across the city.
He’d ensure she had nowhere to turn in this city.
Edward’s school had already processed his withdrawal procedure per
Alexander’s instructions.
Jennifer remained missing.
