Chapter 5
Mark looked at his father in disbelief and cried out,
“Dad, why did you hit me? Haley was the one at fault. Why are you so biased?”
Seeing her son being slapped, Luna Susan’s eyes flickered with a hint of concern, but she couldn’t help but complain as well.
“Honey, just talk it out with Mark. Why are you hitting him?”
Alpha Frank snorted coldly, pointing at me, whose face still bore the red marks of the slap.
“Talk it out? Why don’t you talk it out with Haley? Aren’t those slaps on her face from you?
Being publicly scolded, Luna Susan, who always cared about her image, immediately looked displeased and couldn’t help but retort,
“That’s because Haley is so ungrateful. She’s been the Luna for seven years, and she still hasn’t given us an heir. I told her to go through IVF, but she was too busy playing around, completely forgetting her responsibility to give the pack an heir.”
Luna Susan became more and more assertive as she spoke, but Alpha Frank remained calm, listening to her accusations of me
When she finished, he turned to Mark, his voice calm and indifferent.
“Mark, tell me, is what your mother said true?”
Mark’s gaze shifted uneasily, and there was a trace of guilt in his voice as he avoided looking at me.
“Dad, why are you asking all this? Isn’t this just the truth that everyone already knows?”
Alpha Frank gave a cold laugh, and slapped Mark hard across the face again.
Mark cried out in pain, and Luna Susan immediately became anxious.
“Dad, bow could you be so biased? It’s all Haley’s fault, why are you hitting Mark?”
Alpha Frank took out his phone and played the recording
Mark’s cold voice echoed through the room.
“After every time, I give her a glass of milk. After years on birth control, getting pregnant would be nothing short of a miracle.”
Luna Susan’s eyes widened, and the room suddenly erupted like a powder kep
“He gave Luna birth control pills? Mark would actually do something like that?”
“Haley went through so many rounds of IVF for the sake of having a child, and he new all along. Did he just stand by and watch his Luna suffer like that?”
Skylar glared hard at me, her eyes filled with displeasure as she turned to Mark
“Didn’t you promise me you would never sleep with her?”
Mark panicked and quicldy tried to defend himself.
“It was all my parents and the pack elders pressuring me. I have no feelings for her, every time I touch her, I feel disgusted. Skylar, you’re the only one I’ve always loved.”
Hearing his familiar Insults, I forced a bitter smile, but deep down, I no longer felt a thing.
Luna Susan’s expression also shifted, but she still couldn’t bring herself to fully blame her son.
“Mark is still young and immature. But this misunderstanding is cleared up now, right? Let’s just drop the matter.
Alpha Frank sneered, pulling me close, rolling up my sleeve to reveal dense bruises and countless needle marks on my arm. “Look at what she’s been through for seven years. You think you can just brush it off with a simple ‘let’s just drop the matter‘?”
Mark still wasn’t convinced and shot back angrily.
“So what? Back then she forced Skylar to leave and insisted on forming the
and with me She
Hearing this, Skylar’s eyes flickered briefly, and she tugged at Mark’s sleeve.
“Mark, what’s done is done. I’m not one to hold grudges.
She glanced at me and pursed her lips in frustration.
“Haley, I forgive you. Don’t take it to heart.”
Alpha Frank gave her a cold look, laced with sarcasm.
“Forgive? Who are you to say that?”
Mark couldn’t help but defend Skylar.
“Dad, if you’re blaming me, then why drag Skylar into it as well? She’s kind–hearted and pure. Don’t let Haley’s words lead you to
mistreat her.”
Alpha Frank looked at him with disappointment, letting out a long sigh.
“How did the bloodmoon pack end up with an idiot like you who can’t even see the true nature of those around him?”
“Do you know why she rejected you and lett the pack for the North in the first place?”
