I froze, and instinctively blurted out,
“How is that possible? Didn’t Mark give me birth control pills?”
Mark, standing nearby, showed a hint of guilt on his face and softly spoke,
“Haley, it was last month. That time, I forgot to give you the milk…”
I was stunned. I never imagined that just one slip–up could result in a pregnancy.
But this child had come at the worst possible time.
Mark’s eyes revealed a flicker of hope as he knelt by my bedside.
“Haley, it must be the Moon Goddess who doesn’t want us to be apart, so she gave us this child.”
“I promise, I will be a good father, a good mate. Please don’t leave me, okay?”
Even Luna Susan, who usually treated me coldly, couldn’t help but soften.

Alpha Frank remained silent but his eyes showed a hint of expectation.
I knew everyone hoped this child would make me turn back.

Placing my hand on my belly, I said without hesitation,
“I’m going to terminate this pregnancy.”
Mark’s face drained of color. He grabbed my hand tightly.
“Honey, haven’t you always wanted a child? Now that you’re finally pregnant, carwe please live a good life together?”
He looked at me, and his tone held a trace of hope.

“Mark, have you forgotten the promise you made to me? Didn’t you say only I could carry your child?
Mark, with a cold expression, pushed her away and rushed to explain to me
“Huney, I was blinded by this woman before. Don’t listen to her nose. You’re the only one I love.”

I looked at his hopeful expression, and a mocking smile tugged at my lips. I didn’t tell him that I was heading out to get an abortion.
With Mark watching me, I left the house.
Just as I was about to get into the car, I saw Mark rush out of the Pack house in a panic.
When he saw me about to leave, he suddenly realized something was wrong and shouted in panic.
“Haley, where are you going? Don’t leave me!”
Without hesitation, I closed the car door.
“Stop! I command you to stop!”
I didn’t look back
Mark, I was never coming back.
