Chapter8
Selena stepped out from behind the snow.
She wore a silver–white cloak, her expression calm, her stride unshaken.
“What are you doing here?”
Corvin froze, his throat dry. “You… how could you just walk away from me?”
Her voice was firm. “I never belonged to you.”
“I am the first heir of Ironfang Pack. A pure–blood Alpha.”
“I never wanted to crush you, but you’re no longer worthy to stand before me.”
She raised her hand, and her aura exploded, pure Alpha bloodline dominance crashing over him. Corvin’s entire body jolted, his wolf dropping into a submissive crouch, howling under the weight.
Pinned beneath her dominance, his wolf spirit fractured further, his body shuddering violently, bones creaking in protest.
He fought to move but couldn’t break free.
“Selena, listen to me,” he growled.
Her gaze was ice. “You don’t have the right to speak my name.”
She stepped toward him, voice low and severe. “You destroyed seven years of my life. You trampled on my pup. Don’t you dare vent your anger here.”
She ripped the broken wolf–tooth pendant from her neck and hurled it to the ground.
“From this moment on, I, Selena Whitmore, sever all ties with Corvin Hale. Our bond is broken. Our partnership is over.”
She lifted her head toward the assembled Northern Territory delegation.
“1, Selena Whitmore, rightful bloodline heir, declare my return to my pack”
“My ties to Moontang Pack are finished.”
The crowd erupted in cheers. Corvin stayed frozen, unable even to hold his wolf form, his knees hitting the ground hard.
Fenrir stepped forward, taking his place at his mother’s side, his small hand clutching her cloak.
He didn’t look at Corvin, only whispered, “Mom, let’s go.”
Selena nodded, turning to lead her son through the border gate.
Corvin lunged forward, but a powerful energy barrier slammed biw back.
The general stood on the border platform, voice like ke

Corvin collapsed just beyond the border, clutching the shattered wolf–tooth pendant, his palm slick with blood.
From a distance came Lilith’s voice, shrill and furious, her pregnant form rushing toward him. “Corvin! Where have you been?!”
He closed his eyes and whispered, “Get out.”
Corvin had gone mad.
From the night he knelt in the snow outside Ironfang’s border, he’d been lost.
The pack waited day and night for him to resume his duties, but he locked himself inside the ruins of the old house, sitting for three days straight with nothing but the charred wooden wolf toy in his hands.
He was like a feral wolf stripped of its soul, sometimes growling low, sometimes roaring into the empty walls. No one dared approach. Meanwhile, Lilith, belly heavy with pup, walked to the sacred altar with the matriarch’s support and declared, “The savior is about to be born. He will take Corvin’s place in guarding our pack’s honor.”
The pack had found hope again.
All their expectations now rested on the pup in her womb. No one wanted to admit that Corvin could no longer lead anyone.
On the night of the Red Moon, Lilith went into labor in the ceremonial hall.
She screamed, frantically calling for Corvin, but no answer came.
By midnight, the pup was born.
When the midwife unwrapped the swaddling cloth, the entire room went silent.
It was a pup of no known bloodline, skin deathly pale, claw bones twisted, eyes a dull mix of gray and white, without a single spark of light. From its first breath, it let out a guttural, animalistic growl.
“Neither pureblood nor mixed–blood,” the old priest said darkly. “This is a cursed lineage.”
“A bloodline rejected by the Moon Goddess.”
The wolf shaman tried again, then suddenly stumbled back in terror. “This… this is a monster.”
Lilith’s scream tore through the chamber. Staggering at the sight, she collapsed on the spot and fainted,
The moment the pup’s first guttural cry echoed, the air in the hall turned heavy, metallic with the stench of blood.
By nightfall, the omens began the temple split, the ancestral altar crumbled, the wolves turned rabid, tearing into one another, and every pup vanished without a trace.
Moonfang Pack’s order shattered completely. The throne stood empty.
Panic spread. Wolves fled in every direction. The same pack that bad once sung Corvin’s name now abandoned the cursed lanal
On the day Moondang Pack finally tell, Selena stood on the cliffs of the Northern Territory, gazing toward the home she had once kraven She neither stalled nor shed a tear.
She simply asked Fearir in a quiet voice. “Do you still sealses bány ?
