“You’re absolutely right–Griffin IS my savior!”
I pushed the door open.
The light in Damon’s eyes died instantly.
His voice cracked with despair:
“Impossible! You’re lying! You HAVE to be lying! You loved me enough to die for me–how could you just give up so easily?!”
Damon crawled on his knees to my feet, sobbing:
“Scarlett, please, I’m begging you, forgive me. I really screwed up. If you love money, he’ll die eventually and it’ll all be mine! Then it’ll be yours too! If you love people, why love some old man?! Is he younger and hotter than me?!”
I covered Riley’s eyes with one hand and slapped Damon hard with the other.
“Damon! I must have been BLIND to ever like you! Do you even know what respect means?! You used my kindness and exploited my love. If I had a choice, I wish I’d never met you!”
“And I won’t let you insult my husband! I chased HIM first!”
Damon clutched his face and collapsed, finally truly understanding that he’d lost me forever. His dull eyes showed the despair of complete abandonment.
Griffin took Riley from me, looking at Damon with zero emotion as he removed the identity watch from his wrist and smashed
it on the floor.
“Damon, this is the last time I’ll call you that, because I’m cutting ties with you. You won’t be a Grayson anymore!”
“And you’re not my biological son anyway.”
The words hit like lightning.
Damon looked like his breathing had stopped, his eyes bloodshot, gasping like a drowning man.
“Wh… what?”
“I found you when I was a freshman in high school. Despite everyone’s objections, I kept you and tried to raise you as my heir. But some people’s nature seems inborn–I built my empire, but could never teach you character.”
“Even after Riley was born, I never planned to take away your inheritance. But today, you showed me what real ingratitude looks like! What it means to bite the hand that feeds you!”
Damon screamed uncontrollably, clawing at his hair until it was wild, looking completely insane.
“NO!! You’re lying! You’re LYING!”
Just then, police suddenly burst in.
“Who called this in?”

I stepped forward.
“I did. I’m reporting that Damon Grayson maliciously grabbed the steering wheel on the highway six years ago, causing a crash!”
Damon was already like a puddle of mud on the floor, only knowing how to wail.
The police quickly took him away.
I asked Griffin:
“What about Ivy?”
He smiled.
“What, worried I broke the law? I’m a legitimate businessman now. I had people send her where she belongs.”
“She’ll just get some… special treatment while she’s there.”
Sunlight poured down generously, and Griffin got embarrassed when I stared too long.
“That look could definitely be called harassment.”
I laughed softly and wrapped my arms around his neck:
“So are you gonna let me get away with it?”
In his gentle yet helpless gaze, I remembered when we first met-
Below the temple cliff in Bangladesh, I woke up in agony.
The moment I opened my eyes, I realized I was lying across some gorgeous guy’s lap.
I tried to move but the slightest motion made me break into a sweat from pain.
He sighed.
“Don’t move. My assistant went to get help.”
“You really are something… what’s so bad about living? Hell’s just as hard, and way less fun than up here.”
Then he looked at his legs.
“Do you know how important my legs are?”
Under the moonlight, his face was aristocratic and captivating.
Without thinking, I blurted out:
“Then I’ll take responsibility for you?”
He laughed, like ice melting.
“That look could definitely be called harassment.”
Yes, he was my husband, Griffin Grayson.
