Paisley’s call of “Mom” hit like thunder, shocking everyone.
“What? Isn’t that the wife’s mother?”
“What’s going on? Are the wife and this psycho woman actually sisters?”
The livestream comments rolled endlessly.
“I suggest this divorce case be made into a soap opera–one plot twist after another.”
“Stop joking. The wife is the most tragic one here.”
I laughed bitterly.
If I hadn’t been mentally prepared, I might have broken down at this moment.
Obviously, my mother couldn’t bear to see Paisley wronged.
When I was slandered, she didn’t explain.
When I was beaten and hospitalized, she never asked once.
Now because of Paisley’s few tears, she immediately stood up.
“Shut up! Everyone shut up! Stop speculating–my daughter has been hurt enough already.”
Then she looked at Paisley with teary eyes: “Daughter, my one and only poor sweet girl.”
Hearing her say these words, my heart was still stabbed with pain.
In her heart, Paisley truly was her only daughter.
Me? I was just the spawn left behind by a rapist.
Because of me, she lost her first love, and Paisley was the child of that deceased first love of hers.
The judge then presented other evidence.
How Paisley had drugged the supplements she bought for me.
How Garrett had planned to transfer marital assets.
Including that rafting trip–it was just an accident they had deliberately orchestrated.
The divorce case was quickly decided.
Garrett and I dissolved our marriage.
That trending topic remained high, with comments showing a major reversal.
“I said the wife wouldn’t make a big deal out of nothing–there had to be more to the story. You all not only didn’t believe me but doxxed me online.”

“What kind of crazy plot is this? If it hadn’t gone to court, I’d really suspect it was scripted.”
“Those netizens who hurt the wife before must be regretting it deeply now.”
I just watched coldly as Garrett packed his things.
As he walked out the door with his luggage, he looked back at me.
“Vera, whether you believe it or not, I just lost my way. In my heart, I’ve always loved only you.”
I laughed coldly and gestured for him to leave.
His eyes grew moist as he looked longingly into the house once more before departing.
While Paisley began harassing me frequently.
She sent me photos of her and Garrett lying intimately in bed at my mother’s house.
She sent photos of my mother lovingly cooking meals for her, caring for her as a pregnant woman.
“Vera Sinclair, you won the lawsuit but lost all your loved ones.”
“So the pitiful one is you, isn’t it?”
I couldn’t be bothered to respond and blocked all her contact methods.
Looking at the disgusting house, I sold it directly.
My documents for studying abroad came through quickly. I had always avoided such opportunities because of Garrett.
But now I realized that men could only hinder my progress.
I saw Paisley again at the hospital.
I was there for a follow–up appointment when I saw her in the hallway, her belly slightly swollen.
Her face pale, she looked at me provocatively:
“Vera Sinclair, you blocked me simply because you can’t stand seeing me so happy.”
“You’re forever a loser compared to me.”
“So what if you have a healthy body? I may be disabled, but I have everything you can never reach.”
By then, Garrett walked over with test results.
He didn’t notice me and scolded Paisley coldly:
“You hid your pregnancy from me, and now you’re getting your comeuppance, aren’t you?”
“The doctor said you can’t carry this baby to term. You should abort it early.”
Paisley instantly lost all color. She tugged hard at Garrett, gesturing toward me.
When Garrett saw me, his face lit up with joy.
