After returning from San Francisco, Colin fell into a state of despair, locking himself at home and drinking day and night.
When Nancy opened the door, she was overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol in the room, causing her to take a step back before finally pinching her nose and walking in.
Colin sat on the ground, leaning against the couch, and saw someone approaching. A glim- mer of hope lit up in his eyes.
When I saw the person coming was Nancy, I quickly looked down.
“Colin, don’t drink anymore.”
Nancy snatched the bottle of wine from Colin’s hand.
Colin picked up another bottle of wine and took a big sip.
“Why did you come?”
Nancy kicked Colin and impatiently said, “You’re afraid of getting drunk.”
Although she said that, Nancy still felt sorry for her brother and cooked a bowl of sobering soup for him.
Colin looked at the offered hangover soup but did not take it.
Nancy placed the bowl on the coffee table. “This is the recipe Yvonne asked for.”
Upon hearing Yvonne’s name, Colin’s eyes flickered and he picked up the mulled wine on the coffee table and took a sip.
The familiar taste brought tears to Colin’s eyes. Mixed with the saltiness of tears, he drank up this bowl of sobering soup.

Colin cried while choking back tears as he spoke.

Nancy had told Yvonne that she would no longer interfere in her and Colin’s affairs, just about to refuse.
