Hearing Yvonne speak so confidently, Sienna looked a little surprised, her voice turning shy.
“Do you know about Colin and me? Does he talk about me often?”
Yvonne remembered what Nancy had told her about how much Colin loved Sienna, so she nodded. “Yes.”
Sienna’s face flushed, and happiness shone in her eyes.

“Colin’s a year older than me. He’s a school idol, popular with everyone. He had many ad- mirers, but he fell for me at first sight. He chased after me for a long time before I agreed to give him a chance. Once we were together, he spoiled me in every way. He’d walk me to class, study with me in the library, and even cover the campus with roses to celebrate our an- niversaries. If anyone confessed to me, he’d get jealous for days.
“We’ve been together for four years. Everyone said I was the love of his life. He even told me so many times that he’d marry me after graduation, but I wasn’t ready to settle down. I had my dreams, so I turned him down and broke up with him to study abroad. But over the years, I knew he never moved on. That’s why I decided to come back.
“When I landed in New York, I was still unsure. But when I saw him rushing through the rain to get my luggage, I knew nothing had changed. I’ve been sick the past few days, and he’s been taking care of me. I can tell he wants to get back together, but he hasn’t said it. I thought maybe he was interested in another girl, so I wanted to ask you about it.”
Yvonne listened quietly to Sienna’s story, but her heart remained calm. She smiled.
“If he cares for you that much, he won’t rush to get back together. Maybe he’s planning a sur- prise.”
Sienna relaxed at her words. She waved to say goodbye, but in doing so, she accidentally dropped her phone into the water.
She instinctively bent down to grab it, but she lost her balance and fell into the pool.

Yvonne was momentarily stunned, then quickly wheeled herself over to call for help.

But before she could, Colin appeared, running toward them. Without hesitation, he jumped into the water and pulled Sienna out.
She coughed up water and gradually regained her breath. His face relaxed from worry.
Yvonne watched all that unfold and was about to call a doctor, but Colin stopped her sharply.
“You pushed Sienna into the water on purpose! Instead of helping, you were just going to act like nothing happened and leave?”
Yvonne was caught off guard by his accusation. “She fell while trying to pick up her phone. I didn’t push her, and I never intended to let her drown.”
Colin shot her a cold look and interrupted her.
“Picking up a phone? I stepped away for a moment, and Sienna went to the pool and fell in. Who else could it be but you, pushing her in on purpose?”
He then shoved Yvonne and her wheelchair into the pool, his voice frosty.
“For Nancy’s sake, I tolerated your constant pestering before, but Sienna is my bottom line. If you don’t know how to back off, you’ll have to face the consequences.”
He signaled for his bodyguards to stand guard and prevent anyone from helping her.
The cold water poured into Yvonne’s nose and mouth, choking her and making her uncom- fortable.
She struggled alone, and the wound on her leg reopened. Blood spilled into the water, turn- ing it red.
Her strength faded as she trembled from pain, sinking deeper into the water.
In her daze, the last thing she saw was Colin carrying Sienna away.
Yvonne didn’t know how long she’d been unconscious, but when she woke up, she saw Nan- cy’s worried face.

“I was only gone for a few hours. How did you fall in? The doctor said if you’d been even a minute later, you might not have made it. I was so scared.”
Remembering what happened before she passed out, Yvonne fell silent.
She wanted to tell Nancy everything. But when she remembered that Colin was Nancy’s brother, she hesitated.
She shook her head weakly, her voice tired. “I’m fine. Don’t worry.”
