Chapter 2
Aliana walked over to me and Dominik in her high heels, wearing the same dress as mine.
She was holding a glass of wine, her gorgeous face lit up with a smile.
“Happy fifth anniversary, Mr. Schwartz and Elsa! Looking forward to hearing the patter of tiny feet.”
As she said this, Dominik took a firm grip on my arm.
Aliana raised her glass with a charming smile, ready to take a sip.
Just then, Dominik let go of my hand and stopped Aliana. “Aliana, you’re in bad shape. You should This book had been added on your bookshelf.
Dominik forcibly snatched the wine glass out of Aliana’s hand.
Aliana lost her balance and tumbled into Dominik’s arms.
I stood next to the huge cake like an outsider. Watching their lovey–dovey moment, I felt totally out of place.
All the guests at the party were staring at us.
Dominik murmured something softly to Aliana
Aliana whispered back into Dominik’s car, and after a quick exchange, Dominik let go of her and walked over to me. “Elsa, I’ll take Aliana home. I’ll be right back!”
I just smiled at him. It didn’t matter if I rejected it or not.
Chapter 2
The closeness between Aliana and Dominik felt like a slap in my face in public, and with that, the party was over.
Dominik took Aliana by the hand, leading her outside. When they got to the door, she abruptly stopped and turned to me. “Elisa, I’m really sorry for spoiling your party. My bad.”
She apologized with a sincere look of regret, her voice loud and clear for everyone to hear.
But the next second, she leaned in close, her voice venomous. “I’m pregnant too! Elsa, you know how Dominik feels about me. Your baby will end up miserable!”
Hearing this, I slapped her across the face.
The slap was hard, and I didn’t hold anything back and slapped her with all my might.
This book had been added on your bookshelf.
I knew Aliana was trying to provoke me and make me lose my cool.
I knew she was scheming something.
But none of that mattered now.
No mom would just stand by and let someone curse her child like that.
lapped her, Aliana lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Dominik rushed over, but it was too late. Aliana was already down.
Her face was twisted in agony. She clutched at her stomach and cried out, “It hurts! My baby!”
Dominik’s face was contorted as he yelled at me. “Elsa, have you lost your mind? If anything happens to her baby, I’ll never forgive you!”
He admitted Aliana’s pregnancy in public. It was clear that the baby was his.
With everyone staring in disbelief, Dominik scooped up Aliana, who was wincing in pain on the floor.
His eyes were brimming with worry as he gazed at Aliana. He didn’t event try to mask his concern.
Aliana, appearing all fragile, nestled against him. She rested her hands on Dominik’s shoulders and shot me a provoking smirk.
As Dominik turned to leave with Aliana in his arms, she kicked the cake that was right in front of me.
A ten–layer cake just toppled over, and I was right under it.
It didn’t hurt, but I was covered in cream, looking like a total fool.
I wiped the cream off my face and watched Dominik dash out of the hall with Aliana in his arms.
The party ended because of the drama, and I left, feeling completely embarrassed.
Instead of heading home, I told the taxi driver to take me to a nursing
home.
The doctor was surprised at my late visit. “I was about to call you tomorrow. Your dad’s condition worsened.”
