My dad had been lying unconscious in a nursing home for ten years.
If it weren’t for the huge medical bills, I wouldn’t have had to become a pawn for the Foster family. And I wouldn’t have ended up marrying Dominik in such a humiliating way.

I couldn’t accept it. I always hoped he would wake up, open his eyes, and call out my name.

My dad was the last family member left in this world. I rubbed my belly.

Aliana continued to drop another bombshell. “My baby and yours were both conceived on the same day. To be exact, mine was two hours before yours.”
Her message was harsh. My baby was conceived on Valentine’s Day.
Dominik had been out with Aliana that night, gazing at stars until the early hours.
He came back reeking of Aliana’s perfume, and I was already fast asleep when he woke me up roughly.
