Chapter 105
Sarah’s gaze grew sharper as she locked eyes with Lucy. Her voice was steady but commanding. “Who told you?”
Lucy avoided her stare, her eyes darting nervously. Still, she clung to her argument. “That doesn’t matter! The fact is, this test paper is from the competition! Don’t deny it. If you won’t admit it, we can have the events committee investigate to see who’s
lying! You’re just helping Mia cheat because you’re close to her!”
The crowd grew restless, their anger reignited. If Lucy’s claims were true, then Sarah had crossed a line, betraying the trust of the
entire competition.
The psychology department’s reputation had been built on the long–standing tradition of these annual competitions. And now, someone was accusing a faculty member of cheating in one of its most important events.
But Sarah remained calm. She smiled faintly and raised a hand to quiet the room. “Everyone, please listen, Lucy is correct. This is
Indeed the first set of test questions–the ones prepared for today’s competition.”
Lucy’s face lit up with triumph. Sarah had admitted it! Now there was no escaping the accusation of helping Mia cheat.
“But,”
“Sarah continued, her tone firm, “I never gave this test paper to Mia. After printing, the questions were locked in the safe.
Only I had the key.”
Lucy scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “What’s the point of saying that now? If you were the only one with the key,
doesn’t that make it even clearer that you gave the test to Mia?”
Ignoring her, Sarah took the crumpled test paper from Lucy’s hand. “I only discovered the safe had been tampered with thirty
minutes before the competition started. That’s when I asked the events committee to print a backup set of questions. Someone did steal the test questions–there’s no doubt about that. And I know exactly who it was.”
Lucy’s face froze for a moment before she snapped back. “Stop trying to change the subject! The issue here is that you helped Mia
cheat because you’re close to her. As for the rest, you can explain yourself to the board and the school administration after the
competition!”
Her goal was clear–she wanted Sarah out of the university. She turned to Dean Larson with an eager look. “Dean, the facts are
obvious. Sarah abused her position and gave the test to Mia. When she was caught, she hastily replaced the questions to cover it
up.”
Sarah’s voice turned cold. “Lucy, do you really think everyone here is as foolish as you? If I had stolen the test, why would I break the safe? I could have simply sent Mia the answers through her phone and avoided all this trouble.”
Her gaze shifted to the projection room, and the lights dimmed as a white screen lowered. Sarah pointed at the screen. “As for
who actually stole the test questions, I’d like to know too. The office cameras were tampered with, so no one saw anything. But
some time ago, I installed a small hidden camera in the office. If you’re all curious about who took the questions, why don’t we watch the footage together?”

She glanced at Lucy, whose face turned pale. Lucy stood frozen for a moment before stammering, “You’re lying! There’s no way
you had a hidden camera! L. L
“You what?” Jane’s sharp voice cut through, her piercing gaze fixed on Lucy.
“Nothing!” Lucy’s eyes were red with panic as she glared at Jane.
Her hands trembled uncontrollably. The events committee had assured her there was only one camera in the counseling office.
How could there be another?
She had gone through so much trouble to plant the test paper in Mia’s bag. Was all her effort about to go to waste?
