Chapter 110
“You’re lying! How could the dean act without the board’s approval? Don’t forget, we’re members of the board!” Mrs. Chancer
scolded, her tone sharp..
Sarah didn’t even glance at her, replying flatly, “Have you forgotten? There’s another board member here.”
The mention of Zachary immediately silenced Mrs. Chancer. She didn’t dare speak further.
Charlotte stepped forward again, her tone soft and persuasive. “Ms. Sanders, this situation can be resolved easily. There’s no
need to escalate it this far. The Chancer family won’t give up on Lucy. Why not take the high road and forgive them?”
“Shut up!” Sarah snapped, her voice low but cutting. “What does this have to do with you? You’re not even part of the Chancer
family, so stop telling me what to do. And by the way, you took my phone, didn’t you?”
Charlotte’s heart skipped a beat. “I don’t low what you’re talking about.”
“Stop playing dumb. I knew it was you the moment it went missing. I suggest you return my phone quickly–or throw it away you’d prefer. Otherwise, I’ll just let the police know it’s gone.”
At this, Mr. and Mrs. Garnett joined the conversation. “Ms. Sanders, we’re being polite now, trying to save face for everyone involved. If this gets out of hand, it won’t end well for either side. Don’t you agree?”
Mr. Garrett clearly thought Sarah would take the olive branch and back down.
But Sarah had no interest in continuing to engage with any of them. Her lips tightened as she stared coldly at the group,
This has nothing to do with the Garnett family, does it? If it doesn’t, then you should keep quiet,” Zachary said bluntly, showing
no regard for politeness.
“Oh, and if you’re thinking about pulling strings to get Lucy released, I suggest you don’t waste your time.”
“You—1” Mr. Garnett glared at Zachary, his anger barely contained, but Charlotte quickly grabbed his arm and held him back.
The school doctor walked in, surprised to see so many people crowded in the infirmary. Nevertheless, she handed the medication
to Zachary, “Apply this to the burns in an hour. Don’t cover it with gauze, and make sure to keep the area dry for the next few
days.”
“Got it,” Zachary replied, taking the medicine.
Surrounded by the Chancer and Garnett families, Sarah felt suffocated. She didn’t want to stay in the infirmary another second.
She tried to stand, but the pain in her injured leg made it impossible.
Zachary noticed her struggle. Handing her the medication, he bent down and picked her up effortlessly.
Caught off guard, Sarah instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. Zachary carefully avoided her burns as he adjusted her

In front of the Chancer and Garnett familles, Zachary carried Sarah out of the infirmary without a backward glance.
James clenched his fists, his bloodshot eyes fixed on their retreating figures. His chest heaved with frustration and jealousy.
Charlotte seized the moment, sidling closer to James. “James, Ms. Sanders clearly won’t listen to us now. With Mr. Reynolds protecting her like this, who could touch her?”
“She’s only interested in the Reynolds family’s power!” James said bitterly, his voice cold.
Mrs. Chancer sobbed, her voice thick with desperation. “What about Lucy? What if she’s being mistreated in custody? That vile Sarah! Why hasn’t she died yet?”
“Mom, stop it!” James snapped. He couldn’t bear to hear another word.
Especially not after seeing the posts again–they felt like a slap to his face. But even so, he couldn’t turn his back on Lucy….
