Crash!
The sound of a glass shattering on the floor broke the silence, startling both Sarah and Zachary.
Sarah’s head snapped up, only to see Mia standing frozen, her eyes wide and mouth agape as she stared at Sarah’s swollen,
injured leg.
“Mia?” Sarah called softly.
“Ah!” Mia let out a terrified scream, covering her ears as though shielding herself from something unbearable. She staggered
backward in horror.
“Help! Help!” she shrieked, her cries frantic and filled with pain. Then, in a bizarre twist, she began laughing hysterically. “Go away! Stay away! Leave me alone! Help! Sarah, don’t!”
Her words were wild and scattered, as if she were seeing monsters no one else could see.
Zachary’s brows furrowed deeply with worry. He quickly stepped forward to steady her. “Mia, it’s me.”
But the sound of his voice seemed to trigger something far worse. Mia’s panic escalated into madness, Tears and snot ran freely
down her face as she screamed.
“Don’t come near me! Stay away! Help me!”
Her words were a chaotic stream, devoid of logic.
Sarah watched her with deep concern. Pushing herself upright with great effort, she slowly approached Mia.
Reaching out, Sarah held up a small pocket watch in front of Mia, her voice soft yet firm. “Don’t be afraid. Look at this. Just focus
on it.”
But calming Mia was no easy task. Mia fought back violently, her flailing arms striking Sarah several times.
Zachary stood close, shielding Sarah as best he could, but Mia’s frantic movements made it impossible to avoid every blow
Sarah didn’t stop. “Mia, look at me! It’s me–Sarah!”
The more clearly Mia saw Sarali’s face, the more terrified she became. Screaming, she dropped to the floor and crawled
desperately away, as though escaping some unseen force
Sarah grabbed Mia’s hand, but Mia struggled with such strength that sweat began to bead on Sarah’s forehead.
“Hold her down!” Sarah commanded sharply.
Zachary immediately grabbed Mia’s arms, holding her steady while Sarah brought the pocket watch close to Mia’s face again.
“Look at it!‘

Cowering near the coffee table, Mia clung to her ears, her eyes darting frantically. But when her gaze finally fixed on the pocket watch, it held her attention. Slowly, her movements calmed.
Sarah’s voice softened, carrying a soothing rhythm like a gentle spell. “There’s no one around you now. You’re in a wide, open field. The grass is green, stretching far and wide. You can see horses and cows running freely. The sun is warm above you, and the
wind brushes softly against your face. You’re sleepy… very sleepy…”
At the Police Station.
Lucy banged furiously on the iron bars of her holding cell.
She had never once stepped foot in a jail her entire life–hardly even a police station. And now, here she was, locked up like a
criminal. All because of Sarah Sanders!
Her rage boiled inside her. She slammed the bars again, making as much noise as possible, but the guards outside ignored her
completely.
She seethed with hatred.
She hated Sarah for seeing through her scheme so quickly and calling the police.
She hated Zachary even more for always standing by Sarah’s side, protecting her..
Her jealousy burned, wild and uncontainable.
Suddenly, two guards appeared at the door to her cell.
“Someone wants to see you,” one of them said, unlocking the door..
Lucy’s eyes lit up with hope. “Who is it? My brother? My mom?”
The thought of her family gave her a glimmer of relief. Surely, her brother wouldn’t abandon her!
When she saw who it was, her heart leapt with joy. She knew her brother wouldn’t let her down!
