Those things they said were all lies! She was framed by Sarah Sanders!
But every time Lucy closed her eyes, the hateful words echoed in her mind, and her ears rang with their accusations. She pressed her hands tightly over her ears, screaming, “I won’t let you get away with this, Sarah Sanders!”
The next day, she returned to school.
The moment she stepped onto campus, she felt the disdain in the stares of the students around her. When she entered her classroom, the group of classmates chatting in a corner immediately dispersed.
She approached Lindsey, fuming. “These people are ridiculous! They don’t even care about the truth–I was framed!”
To her surprise, Lindsey didn’t back her up as usual. Instead, her tone was harsh. “The whole school saw it, Lucy. There were videos all over the news. And you’re still claiming you were framed?”
Lucy glared at Lindsey with fury. “How dare you take Sarah Sanders‘ side? Don’t forget who you’re loyal to! I treated you so well, and this is how you repay me?”
“Lucy, everyone in school knows who you really are now.”
“Fine! Even you’ve turned against me!”
When Sarah went to find Mia, she stumbled upon Lucy bullying Lindsey in the hallway.
At the far end of the corridor, Lucy had ripped Lindsey’s shirt and was recording her with her phone while spewing insults. “You
dare hide from me? Don’t think you can walk all over me just because I was detained! The Chancer family is still on the school
board. With one word from me, I can still get you expelled!”
Students gathered nearby, but no one intervened. It was Lucy Chancer, after all. Despite their anger at her actions, none of them
wanted to get involved and risk trouble.
“Lucy Chancer, what are you doing?” Sarah’s icy voice cut through the air as she approached.
Mia clung to Sarah’s side, peeking out timidly at Lucy.
“You again! Mind your own business! I haven’t even dealt with you yet!” Lucy spat, her face twisted in rage.
Sarah stepped forward, shielding Lindsey. “If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t she your friend? Is this how you treat your friends?”
“So what? Sarah Sanders, I already told you this has nothing to do with you! Get lost!” Lucy barked.
“As a school counsellor, I’m obligated to remind you: bullying isn’t just against school rules–it’s a criminal offense. I can report you to the administration right now. If you care about graduating, you’d better stop this nonsense!” Sarah’s cold gaze bore into Lucy like daggers.
Lucy hesitated, her anger palpable, but she couldn’t ignore Sarah’s words.

Sarah helped Lindsey to her feet. “Lindsey, go to the nurse’s office and get checked out.”
“Thank you, Miss Sanders,” Lindsey said, tears streaming down her face.
Mia clung tightly to Sarah’s arm, her fear evident. She looked like she was on the verge of tears.
“Sarah… Sarah…” Mia’s voice trembled.
“Don’t worry, we’re leaving now,” Sarah said gently, patting Mia’s shoulder to comfort her.

As Sarah led Mia away, Lucy’s gaze followed them. Her eyes lingered on Mia, studying her intently. She blinked, then stared
harder, as if trying to confirm something.
Was she seeing things? Did Mia seem… slow–witted?
Back at the counseling office, Sarah sat Mia down and handed her a coloring book.
“Mia, why don’t you work on this?” Sarah said, placing a set of colored pencils beside her.
Mia picked up a pencil and quietly began coloring in the book, her small figure radiating a sense of peace amidst the chaos.
