Chapter 178
“What are you talking about? Mia! This is campus property- you can’t assault me!” Jenny sobbed.
“Playing dumb? Let me refresh your memory!” Mia grabbed her hair harder. “You powered off my phone and hid it yesterday! Just to block any incoming calls!”
She snatched Jenny’s designer bag and found her iPhone, forcing her to unlock it with Face ID. In the messages, she found Lucy’s chat history. Her fury grew as she read – Lucy had orchestrated everything: befriending her, suggesting the photoshoot, arranging the phone theft
Because of Jenny’s schemes, Sarah had been hurt! She wouldn’t let this go unpunished!
“The evidence is right here on your phone. How do you explain this?” Mia’s voice was ice–cold.
She turned to the watching students. “This girl stole my phone and conspired with Lucy Chancer to manipulate me! Anyone want
to take her side?”
The students backed away, shakding their heads.
Humiliated, Jenny snapped. “Mia! This is a prestigious university! I’m reporting you to the Dean!”
“Go a
ahead! Run to him! I’ll tell him exactly what you did!”
Right then, Dean Larson and Professor Clark arrived.
The Dean recognized Mia immediately, his stern expression softening.
Professor Clark helped Jenny up. “What’s happening here?”
Mia gave a cold laugh. “Professor, Jenny tripped and almost knocked me down. She owes me an apology.”
The Dean looked pointedly at Jenny, who clenched her fists and took a deep breath. “Yes… that’s what happened. I’m sorry, Mia.”
“Since it was an accident and she’s apologized, perhaps we can resolve this here?” the Dean asked carefully.
Everyone knew Mia Reynolds never flaunted her family’s influence she must be truly furious.
“Whatever.” Mia muttered.
After the faculty left, Mia fixed Jenny with a threatening stare. “This isn’t over.”
Jenny buried herself in her textbook, avoiding eye contact.
During lunch break, she rushed to Lucy’s department.
“Lucy, please help me! I did exactly what you said with Mia, and now she’s out for revenge. My family’s nobody – I need your
protection.” Jenny begged,
Lucy barely glanced up from her laptop. “Not my problem if you got caught. What do you expect me to do?”
Jenny stepped back, stunned. “You’re abandoning me? Lucy, this was your plan! You can’t just wash your hands of this.”
“Where’s your proof?”
“Our text messages!”
“Oh, how unfortunate. My phone was stolen two days ago. Someone must have found it.” Lucy smirked and turned away.
Just then, police sirens echoed across the e quad.
Lucy froze, and Jenny paled as they watched patrol cars approach the building
“Stop staring at me!” Lucy snapped at Jenny before rushing toward the exit.
