Chapter 24
Lindsey hadn’t even finished talking when she noticed Lucy’s expression, dark enough to storm. She quickly changed her tone, saying, “But honestly, I feel she’s not that pretty. Her nose and chin look plastic af–nothing like your natural beauty, Lucy!”
Lucy knew perfectly well that Sarah hadn’t had any work done, but hearing Lindsey’s flattery still pleased her. Her expression
softened.
However, she couldn’t ignore the phrase “new counsellor” her friend had mentioned. Psychology department? Counsellor? Sarah
Sanders?
Lucy’s lips curled into a sly smile, and she motioned for Lindsey to come closer. “Lindsey, do something for me. Do it well, and
last month’s Chanel bag my brother got me is yours.”
The next day.
The school’s online forum was buzzing with a new thread, pinned right at the top in bright red letters:
“EXPOSED: New Counselor Only Has High School Diploma – How Did She Get Hired?”
It didn’t take much for people to connect this “new counsellor” with Sarah. The campus was already buzzing about the attractive
new counselor, but this bombshell sent the rumor mill into overdrive. Everyone clicked in to see what it was about.
The post came from an anonymous account, but the claims were enough to shock everyone.
“Apparently, this so–called ‘new counsellor‘ never even graduated from college! How did she manage to land the job? Just what
strings did she pull?”
Attached was a screenshot from the school’s official site showing Sarah’s enrollment year but no graduation or completion records, indicating she hadn’t finished her degree and only had a high school diploma,
“As we can see, Sarah Sanders never graduated, yet she’s somehow our new counsellor I don’t recall the school making any
special exceptions, so it’s safe to assume she got in here through some questionable means!”
With the so–called “evidence” and accusations, the forum erupted. Students who’d initially thought well of Sarah started to talk.
“Wait, graduated high school?”
is this for real? Our new counsellor only
“I looked it up myself–it’s true. There’s no record of her finishing her degree on the site.”
“How does someone with just a high school diploma end up counseling at a reputable university? Has the school lost its mind?”
“More likely she worked her way in by… other means. Who knows if it’s her looks or something else?”
“What a disgrace!“”

Sarah had already drawn plenty of attention, and now this scandal only fueled the flames. The thread quickly went viral, with everyone speculating about how Sarah had landed a role.
Meanwhile.
In the psychology center, Sarah was absorbed in organizing historical records and student information. Since it was warm, she’d
left the door open.
Every now and then, a student would casually pass by the center, some even poking their heads in to sneak a glance, whispering
to each other as they did.
Noticing the curious glances, Sarah raised her eyebrows, feeling a bit puzzled but continued focusing on her work.
It wasn’t until lunchtime, when she’d planned to meet Mia in the dining commons, that things became clearer.

As she arrived, Mia hurried over, looking anxious and holding her phone tightly. She lowered her voice, saying, “Sarah, did you
hear about the forum post?”
