Chapter 15 Drop a Hint
Natalie smiled, “You earned this yourself, Ms. Willard. But
Madam Willard hasn’t placed full trust in you just yet. The next
few years won’t be easy. It’s only been a month. Keep pushing.”
Seryna knew what was coming. If she stayed the course,
Devona’s shares and companies would eventually be hers.
That was exactly why Tehila had killed Devona in the last life.
But now Seryna was turning the tables. Her family always
favored Tehila. Even though she didn’t own any shares, they’d
give her more money than she could spend once she got
married.
Seryna had no reason to give anything away.
Now that Devona had made her choice, Seryna would take it.
“Natalie, just a second. You and Grandma have had sore throats
lately. I’ll make something soothing for both of you.”
Natalie smiled. “You’re always so thoughtful, Ms. Willard.“”
Seryna smiled back and headed to the kitchen.

Natalie walked over to Devona and lowered her voice. “With
Ms. Seryna away, Mr. Rashad and the others seem perfectly
content.”
Devona narrowed her eyes, thinking of Rashad. To her, he was
just like his father–clueless, indecisive, never a leader.
She leaned back against the sofa with grace and said, “We’re in
no rush. Tehila is vile. Devona will regret choosing her.“”
Suddenly, she looked scary, with a cold, dangerous glint in her
eyes.
Tehila’s biological mother was a nanny, but no one knew who
her father was.
It was up to Seryna to find out.
And there had to be more behind the baby swap from years ago.
She came back with two herbal drinks. “Natalie, Grandma, try
this. It should help.”
Devona’s throat eased up after a few days of having it.
Only then did she realize Seryna knew medicine.
She took a sip, looked up, and held Seryna’s hand. “Sera, I’ve got.

minutes and stay close.”
Seryna nodded happily. Life here was calm, and people treated
her with respect.

Tehila came looking for her, but Devona shut her out.
She couldn’t pull off her plan without getting to Seryna.
Thinking back on how Devona died last time, Seryna held her
hand. “Grandma, can you promise me something?”
She wanted Devona and her love to last because Devona was
the only one in the family who truly cared and had good sense.
Years in business made Devona sharp and seasoned, and she
didn’t think much of most of the Willard family.
With her decision about the legacy, they would soon come after
Seryna.
“Go ahead, Sera,” Devona said.
She trusted Natalie and spoke up. “Grandma, you’ve always
looked out for me. Just… be careful, okay? Watch out for
anyone acting shady.“”
Devona grinned, then patted her hand. “Silly girl. Of course I
will. And remember, I’ve got you. Do whatever you need!”
Chapter 15 Drop a Hint
That was the reassurance Seryna had been waiting for.
If she told Devona about Tehila’s plots, it would just come off as
gossip. Devona needed to see it for herself, and that was the only
way she’d see Tehila’s true colors.
Devona patted her hand again. “Alright. Go finish your
shopping.”
“OK. I’ll sit with you later. Don’t forget to finish that drink,”
Seryna said gently.
Devona beamed. “I won’t. Go and enjoy yourself.”
