Chapter 7
“Mom!”
Julia rushed to Nina’s side–only to be shoved away by Rosen.
She stumbled, her arm scraping against the floor, leaving a thin trail of blood.
Rosen’s raised hand trembled in fury.
“We don’t have a daughter like you.”
“From this moment on, you are no longer part of this family!”
He was so angry he could barely speak.
Julia’s tears fell immediately.
“Dad, I’m sorry! Please–I didn’t mean to… Don’t disown me!”
Real fear showed as she begged for forgiveness.
Rosen’s voice was ice.
“There is no
place in this family for you anymore.”

Julia shook her head frantically, crying uncontrollably.
Ethan suddenly shoved her aside, barking

“Can’t you see my mother passed out?! What the hell is wrong with you? How could you be so cold?!”
His eyes were bloodshot, full of fury and disappointment.
Some in the crowd started to side with him.
“She fainted. No matter what happened, this is a human life–we can’t just ignore that.”
“Yeah, Ethan messed up, but his mom’s in danger. This is going too far.”
“I actually felt bad for her earlier. I didn’t realize she was this cruel…”
A few even stood up and tried to push back against the security team, rallying behind Ethan’s moral high ground.
I didn’t flinch.
Instead, I instructed the medics to escort Nina separately through a side entrance and place her in an ambulance.
When Ethan tried to follow, my team held him back.
He clenched his jaw so tight, I could hear the grind of his teeth.

“You got what you wanted,” he growled. “You destroyed my whole family. Are you happy now?!”
“You ruined me! This is over.”
“I’m done.”
I was trembling, fists clenched, fury coursing through me—but I forced myself to stay composed.
He was still trying to twist the narrative. Still trying to play the victim.
I stepped down from the stage, another report in hand.
I dropped it at his feet. Sheets of paper scattered across the floor.
“Ethan Sinclair, my husband, has been secretly drugging me for two years. That’s why I lost the ability to have children.”
Gasps spread like wildfire through the room.
Reporters rushed to gather the documents, cameras zooming in.
The livestream erupted.

“How dare you bring up our child.”
Ethan froze.
“Our… child?”
His voice was barely audible, as if he didn’t believe what he’d heard.
I fought the tremble in my throat, refusing to let him hear the crack in my voice.
He grabbed the hem of my jacket, desperate now.
“What child? What child?! Say it!”
My voice wavered, but I forced the words out.
“There was a child… once. Ours. But because of the drugs… I lost it.”
Those words shattered him.
He collapsed, speechless.
