Chapter 5
The sudden shift left the kidnapper stunned. His knife now pointed at me.
I smiled bitterly. “Sir, hurting me won’t help you.
“I’m indeed his wife, but he’s been cheating on me for a long time.
“Il die, it’ll only make them happy. You won’t get a penny from them.”
After hearing that, the kidnapper turned the knife toward Natalie, who was still tied up.
Zayn didn’t even glance at them. He just stared at me in disbelief, but he quickly calmed himself down.
“Eleanor, don’t joke around like that. It’s not funny
“I swore to God that I’d only ever have you as my wife.”
He was always too calm, like nothing could shake him. It was quite scary.
I rolled my eyes at him with a meaningful smile. “God won’t bless people who lie to those who love them.
“Zayn, do you think I’m so pathetic that I’m doomed to spend my whole life as a jerk’s only wife?”
His eyes widened. He looked like he couldn’t believe I’d say such harsh words.
Still, he coaxed me patiently, “Eleanor, did someone tell you something?
“Don’t believe rumors. It was hard for me to marry you. I always cherish. you.”

I repeated his words back to him. “That’s right. I also made such a big decision to marry you. Why didn’t you cherish me?”
Zayn kept shaking his head like that would prove he meant what he said.
I held my hands tightly and took a deep breath.
“No. Zayn. No one told me. I heard it from you.”
Then, I pulled out my phone and played a video I had received that night.
In the silent night, Zayn’s voice came through, loud and clear.
“I choose the first night!
“Eleanor is nice, but I’ve been with her too many times. I’m tired of it.
“She’s not like Natalic, who’s still untouched. It’ll be fun.”

Zayn’s face went pale. His expression shifted from shock to fear, and then. to despair.
“Eleanor, it’s not what it sounds like. I can explain.
“We were just messing around. I was drunk and said dumb stuff. It didn’t mean anything.”
I was amused by his shamelessness. There was a whole video, yet he was still denying it.
“Zayn, if you had admitted that you no longer loved me and cheated, I might’ve respected you for having the guts to come clean.
“But the way you’re acting now just disgusts me. I’m more upset with myself for wasting five years on someone like you.”
Chapter 1
Zayn avoided my eyes, but he still said through clenched teeth, “No, Eleanor, I never stopped loving you. You’ve always been the one in my heart. This video… It was all just a joke.”
I stared straight at him. “So, are you going to say that sleeping with her many times right next to my suite on our wedding night was also part of the joke?
“Was it also a joke when you gave her your family heirloom, met her parents, and gave me the fake one?
J’Don’t bother lying. I’ve got proof of everything on video.”
Zayn stepped closer, his voice shaky.
“Eleanor, I lost my head for a moment. Her virginity was being auctioned off in public, and I just couldn’t bear to see them humiliate her like that, so I stepped in.

It was such a sentence again.
The same kind of words my father used to say now came out of my
husband’s mouth.
I was so furious my body trembled, but Zayn didn’t notice it and kept. trying to explain.
“I was the one who took her virginity. I didn’t love her, so I could only make up for it with money. That’s why I gave her the Heart of Eternity.
“Her family wanted her to marry an old man, so I went along and pretended to be her boyfriend.
“Please, believe me. You’re the only one I love.”

When I didn’t lash out, he seemed to gain more confidence.
“If you like the Heart of Eternity, I’ll give it to you. Tell me what you want. I’ll buy it.
“Eleanor, you can question everything–just don’t doubt my love for you.”
I chuckled, though every word I said was sharp as a knife.
“You think acting like this makes you seem loving, don’t you?
‘You say you love me, but that didn’t stop you from sleeping with her again and again. And when she caused the death of our child, you did. nothing.
“Tell me, Zayn, how can someone as dirty as you ever deserve love?”
