Chapter 7 Please Don’t Block the Way, Thank You
“What misunderstanding?”
Nova felt she had Isabelle all figured out.
“I think she’s just being dramatic. You don’t need to worry about her.”
“But…”
Tiana was about to say more but was interrupted by Harlow, who was playing video games nearby.
“If you’re really worried about her, go to the police station now; otherwise, stop nagging.”
Harlow’s blunt words momentarily silenced Tiana.
Nova then looked up and glared at her son, “How can you talk to Tiana like that?”
Harlow was not intimidated by Nova, “What did I say? I just told her to shut up.”
“Can’t you keep quiet for once?”
Everyone in the Powell family knew they were live streaming, and Nova didn’t want her younger son to look bad and get criticized by netizens.
“Fine, I’ll zip it,” Harlow made a zipping gesture with his hand.
“Mom, does Harlow dislike me?” Tiana hesitantly asked after Harlow had gone upstairs.
“How could he not like you? You’re his older sister. If not you, who would he like?” Nova comforted her daughter.
“He’s just going through puberty and being rebellious!”
The live stream chat was filled with sympathy for Tiana.
“Tiana is beautiful and kind, and she’s still worried about Isabelle. Harlow is being too harsh.”
“Harlow is just like the picky younger brother in my family; don’t mind him.”
“Nova makes sense. Maybe Isabelle is causing trouble on purpose to get back to the Powell family.”
Some viewers also speculated, “Does Tiana know what kind of person Roy is? Isabelle just returned, and he’s already causing trouble. Could he have harassed Tiana before?”
“That’s a scary thought,” another viewer added.
Tiana, using a secondary account, saw these comments and turned pale.
“Tiana, what’s wrong?” Nova was about to send Tiana to bed to rest when she noticed Tiana’s distracted state.
Tiana forced a smile, “Mom, I’m fine. I’m just a bit worried about Isabelle.”
Nova, displeased, firmly said, “Stop worrying about her. She’s been trouble since she was little. Go to sleep now; staying up late isn’t good for your skin.”
Nova pushed Tiana upstairs while Isabelle was still at the police station giving her statement.
“Officer, I’ve checked, and Madam Cordelia suffered a stroke, likely due to her long–term overwork and lack of sleep,” Isabelle stated confidently.
The officers were starting to wonder if she was a doctor.
“How do you know?”
“I’ve studied some basic medical knowledge.” Isabelle wouldn’t claim to be an expert.

Saying so would only make her seem boastful.
“You seem quite confident in your assessment of the elderly lady’s condition,” the officer remarked.
Isabelle replied modestly, “You flatter me.”
The officer’s mouth twitched. Is that really a compliment?

According to Isabelle and Lennon, they had come over when they heard a child crying next door, so Cordelia’s collapse was indeed unrelated to them.
A colleague from the hospital called, reporting that the child told them his grandmother had collapsed before the relatives. arrived and helped call an ambulance.
Although young, the child’s logic was clear, having been frightened earlier. After being comforted by the police and a nurse at the hospital, the child began to speak.
“The child’s account proves you had nothing to do with the elderly lady’s fall, but we still need to wait for the hospital’s examination results. So, please keep your lines open,” the officer explained.
“So we can go now, right?” Lennon checked his phone; it was getting late.
“Yes, thank you for your cooperation,” the officer replied.
As Isabelle and Lennon exited, they saw a group of live streamers outside, including Michelle, the first to capture them and spread rumors online.
Michelle was at the forefront. Seeing Isabelle, her eyes lit up.
This was her chance for more views, not to be missed.
“Folks, Isabelle is out. I’ll go get the scoop for you,” Michelle announced to her live viewers.
The chat was buzzing with excitement.
After Isabelle was taken, Michelle’s viewers had urged her to follow up.
Whether for the views or for her “family,” Michelle had come.
Other broadcasters had also arrived, eager for a share of the viewers.
“Hello Isabelle, I’m a live streamer named Michelle. Have you heard of me?” Michelle blocked Isabelle’s path.
Isabelle didn’t even glance at her, “I don’t know you. Please don’t block the way, thank you.”
Michelle’s face fell. Isabelle’s aloof demeanor was too much. She had millions of followers online. Being dismissed like that was embarrassing.
With that attitude, no wonder the Powell family had kicked her out as soon as they realized she was an imposter!
“Not knowing me is fine, but I heard you had a conflict with an old lady that led to her being hospitalized unconscious. Is that true? Why did the conflict arise?”
Isabelle frowned, annoyed by Michelle’s persistence.
“Are you a journalist?” Isabelle finally looked at her.
That look brought Isabelle’s face into Michelle’s live stream. Her viewers began commenting.
“The difference between celebrities and influencers is clear. Michelle is pretty, but Isabelle’s beauty is flawless from every angle.”
“Ladies, who understands? I want to swing on her eyelashes.”
“I can criticize her character, but not her face.”

Some viewers expressed their displeasure.
“Disgusting, how can you guys like her haughty attitude? Are you all men? Do you enjoy being servile?”

“Jealous much? I’m a woman, but I love Isabelle’s looks. Besides, isn’t it normal for her to be upset when a streamer blocks her path for no reason?”
A casual viewer in the chat tried to defend Isabelle but found herself kicked out of the stream.
Michelle struggled to maintain her smile as she saw the discussion. Fortunately, the camera was not on her, or viewers would have seen her expression twist.
Switching expressions was a critical skill for streamers.
“I’m not a journalist.”
“Then, why do you care so much?” Isabelle retorted sharply.
Michelle, though good at maintaining her composure, was visibly upset.
“I’m just concerned about you, and so are the viewers. The internet is buzzing with rumors that you were arrested for causing the old lady’s death.”
“Don’t you want to reassure your fans?”
“Oh, thanks, but we’re not close.”
Isabelle was about to continue but Lennon quickly intervened.
He pulled Isabelle behind him.
“Ms. Michelle, the police will clarify the truth about this matter. Thank you for your concern. Wasn’t it you who first filmed Isabelle, leading to her being cyberbullied and slandered?”
Michelle’s smile froze.
