Chapter 23
Hayes‘ face instantly drained of all color, his lips trembling speechlessly.
Seeing him like this, a wicked satisfaction rose in Lennox’s heart as she deliberately continued slowly:
“If not for you, I probably would have dated him normally, fallen in love, then married him. Maybe by now… we’d already have a cute child…”
“Stop talking!” Hayes suddenly roared, eyes bloodshot. “Len, please, stop!”
“Ha.” Lennox laughed coldly. “You should understand–from the moment you kidnapped me here and forced me to marry you, all I have left for you is hatred.”

Hayes couldn’t listen anymore. He stumbled to his feet and fled again.
Lennox watched his panicked retreat, the warmth in her eyes gradually freezing. She had to find a way to leave this place quickly. She absolutely wouldn’t let him control her.
Early the next morning, Lennox learned from the servants that Hayes had to fly back to handle urgent company matters.
This was an opportunity.
Lennox’s eyes turned craftily as she called to the nearest maid: “Use your phone to look up the Thorne family’s recent situation. Hayes said he got revenge for me–I want to see what happened to that father–daughter pair.”
The maid looked troubled: “This… Mr. Hayes specifically said not to give you anything that could contact the outside world.”
“I’m not asking for your phone.” Lennox narrowed her eyes, her tone carrying pressure. “You hold it, I’ll just watch. It’s not like I can run away, right?”
The maid still hesitated. Lennox switched to a threatening tone: “What? Won’t even listen to me?”
“If Hayes found out that the person he treasures most can’t even command a servant, what do you think he’d do to you?”
At the mention of Hayes, the maid visibly flinched.
She gritted her teeth, thinking a few minutes of searching shouldn’t cause problems, and unlocked her phone to open the search page.”
Lennox pretended to focus on the screen while glancing at the milk glass on the table. Suddenly her hand “slipped,” and the glass crashed to the floor with a “clang,” milk splashing all over her.
“What are you standing there for?”
Lennox immediately raised her voice, face full of anger. “Go get me a clean dress! And clean this mess up!”
The maid was startled by her sudden fury and hurriedly crouched down to wipe the floor, even forgetting the phone she’d left on the couch.
Once the maid disappeared around the hallway corner, Lennox immediately grabbed the phone, her fingers flying across the screen.
She sent the same message to Suri, to Lucas, even to the police anonymous tip email: “Save me,” followed by rough coordinates she’d secretly captured with the location app while the maid wasn’t watching.
After sending, she quickly deleted all records, turned off the phone, and casually tossed it back on the couch.
“What a piece of junk phone, crashes just from browsing.”
Lennox muttered as she stood up and headed straight back to her room.

Chapter 23
When the maid returned to find the powered–off phone, she broke out in cold sweat but didn’t dare ask questions.
Lennox lay in bed, her heart churning with anxiety.
She didn’t know if the messages had gotten through, or even if they did, how long it would take them to find this isolated private island.
Hayes‘ people were everywhere here. She could barely leave the courtyard, let alone escape on her own.
At dusk, the maid bringing dinner said: “Mr. Hayes has too much to handle there. He probably won’t be back until late tonight. He said you don’t need to wait up and should rest early.”
“Who wants to wait for him?” Lennox snorted coldly. “He thinks too highly of himself.”
After eating, she didn’t even bother staying in the living room and went straight back to her room.
Lying in bed, Lennox was still pondering whether to try sending another message tomorrow when a huge roaring sound came from outside.
A helicopter!
Lennox frowned, thinking Hayes had returned.
But soon, chaotic footsteps and shouting came from outside, followed by her room door being kicked open.
“Len!”
It was Suri’s voice!
Lennox’s heart lurched as she shot up from the bed.
In the doorway, Suri was looking at her with anxiety. Seeing she was unharmed, visible relief crossed her face.
Suri stepped aside, revealing the person behind her.
Lucas‘ blonde–haired, green–eyed face appeared in the doorway. Those eyes that usually held laughter were now filled with worry and urgency.
“Len!”
Lucas rushed over, stopping a few steps away from her.
