Chapter 18
After all, this was the bed they had only ever used for that purpose.
She immediately rejected the idea and asked, “Aren’t we here to sign the agreement?”
Blair looked confused. “What agreement?”
Bianca realized that Blair probably hadn’t even opened the divorce papers yet.
She gave a bitter laugh. “The agreement’s in the study. You can go check it out yourself.”
Blair had unbuttoned half of his shirt, but after hearing her, he stopped and buttoned it back up. For once, he seemed to have some patience.
Without another word, he left the bedroom and headed toward the study.
Just then, Bianca’s phone rang.
Looking down, she saw it was a call from her friend, Jenna Sawyer.
Without hesitation, Bianca picked up the phone.
Jenna’s voice came through muffled and hoarse, probably from drinking too much. “Bianca, I’ve had too much to drink. Can you come pick me up?”
Bianca felt a little concerned but agreed, “Okay, send me your address.”

“Alright, hurry up. I’m afraid I’ll get even more drunk.
“Sure.”
Once the call ended, Bianca saw that Jenna had sent her the address.
She didn’t have time to say anything to Blair, so she hurried downstairs.
As she was about to leave, Lila walked out of the servant’s room and happened to spot Bianca. “Mrs. Avery?”
Bianca, in a hurry, quickly told Lila, “Lila, please tell Blair that if he finds anything he doesn’t like in the agreement, he can call me to discuss it.”
Lila was a little confused and wanted to ask more, but Bianca had already disappeared into the night.
When Lila arrived at the study on the second floor, she found Blair sitting at his desk, looking through something.
At the sound of footsteps, he instinctively looked up. When he saw it was Lila, he asked, “Where’s Bianca?”
Lila pointed downstairs. “Mrs. Avery seemed to have something urgent to take care of. She left in quite a hurry.”
Blair straightened up, a rare flash of irritation crossing his face. “She left?”
He had come to the study to find something that Bianca mentioned, but now he hadn’t found anything, and she had already left. How could he not be frustrated?
Noticing his growing frustration, Lila hesitated before asking, “Sir,

Blair replied, “Bianca said there was an agreement on the desk. Have you seen it?”
Lila thought for a moment before replying, “Oh, I remember now. Mrs. Avery asked me to give it to you. I was worried I might forget, so I placed it in my room. I’ll go get it for you.”
Blair frowned slightly, his tone sharp as he said, “In the future, don’t move things around in the study without asking.
Lila nodded, “Oh, of course.”
As Lila went downstairs to find the document, Blair was about to sit. down when his phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Sandra.
“Blair, haven’t you finished yet? Winnie refuses to sleep and keeps asking for you.”
Finished?
Blair furrowed his brows, not quite understanding Sandra’s meaning, but he didn’t press her. He simply replied, “I’ll be there soon.”
Downstairs, Lila was still searching through the rooms, completely unaware that Blair had already left.
She checked several places but still couldn’t find the agreement. Muttering to herself, she said, “Where did I put it?”

In the early hours of the morning, the rain began to fall outside.

The car’s heater was on, making the interior warm and comfortable.
Jenna leaned back in the passenger seat, covering her face with her hand as she quietly sobbed.
Bianca glanced at her with concern but didn’t ask any questions.
After a while, Jenna finally spoke, her voice hoarse and unsteady, “Allan cheated again.”
Bianca had heard this before.
Jenna and Allan Mann had been together for eight years, from university until now. They couldn’t live without each other, but they never married.
