chapter267
So concerned about me?”
Hearing Elvin’s voice, Bianca instinctively turned to look at him. “Elvin, why are you here?”
Her head was covered in sweat, and her face was flushed.
Elvin stood by the hospital bed in dark sportswear, his short hair casually falling over his head, a faint smile in his eyes.
He had an exceptionally handsome face, with distinct and well–defined features.
Though he looked a bit roguish, when he smiled, not a trace of that could be seen; instead, he appeared refined and elegant.
Elvin sat down in the chair by the bed, his long legs bent. The sportswear hugged his lean waist. He looked at Bianca, his expression suddenly sincere, and said softly, “I’m fine, don’t worry about me.”
Bianca didn’t ask more. Seeing he wasn’t hurt, she said, “Then go back. I’m fine now.”
She told him to leave because she was worried Elroy might get angry at him again.
Elvin brought a cup with a straw. He held the straw to Bianca’s lips and said, “I’m not going back tonight. I’ll stay with you at the hospital. Have some water first. It’ll soothe your throat.‘
Instead of sipping, Bianca frowned and asked, “Where’s Lynette?”

Elvin gently brushed away the stray hairs by her cheek, his voice tender. “They’ve all gone back.”
Bianca’s teary eyes widened in confusion. “You… how?”
Lynette would never leave Bianca alone at the hospital.
Knowing her bewilderment, Elvin answered plainly. “My sister–in–law convinced my brother. That’s why they left together.”
Bianca weighed his words, uncertain of their truth. Yet Lynette’s absence remained undeniable.
Too weary to press further, she stayed silent, discomfort clinging to her.
These days marked peak flu season–Bianca caught it from Winnie.
Gratitude and guilt tangled her voice. “Elvin, go home. Staying here risks infection.”
He shrugged. “Infection’s up to fate. It’s too late to send me away now. Bianca fell quiet. His logic held–exposure had already happened.
Seizing her silence, Elvin’s lips curved. “Catching it might be perfect excuse–to share your room, care for you… stay by your side.”
Bianca Watts had no idea how to respond to Elvin’s words.
After hesitating for a long while, she finally lifted her gaze to meet his and said, “Elvin, why must you do this?”
Elvin already knew what Bianca would say, and he had no desire to hear it. Cutting her off, he insisted, “Enough. Let’s not discuss it now. Have some water first.”

He retrieved the cup again and held the straw to her lips.
Bianca’s mouth ‘was parched. Without protest, she took two large gulps.
Watching her drink, Elvin couldn’t help murmuring, “Good girl.”
Hearing his tone–as if coaxing a child–Bianca flushed instantly.
She didn’t reply, instead lying flat and averting her eyes from him.
Noticing the IV bag was empty, Bianca told Elvin, “Please hang the next bag for me.”
Elvin glanced up, confirming the bag had run dry. He needed to replace it.
Rising, he reached up to hang the fresh IV bag.
As his arm lifted, his tracksuit jacket rode up slightly. When Bianca turned her head, she accidentally glimpsed his tan, defined abs.
His physique was impressive, those muscles looking firm and touchable.
In that moment, her cheeks burned even hotter.
After securing the IV, Elvin sat back down. His eyes fixed on Bianca’s face, now crimson as if stained with blood.
Alarm surged through him. He pressed a hand to her cheek,
demanding, “Is your fever spiking again?”
Bianca turned her face away, the tips of her ears flushed red. “I… I’m not feverish.”
