Seeing Elvin still standing, she scooted over. “Elvin, want to sit awhile?”
Elvin eyed the tiny space she’d made. If he sat, they’d definitely touch.
After a moment’s thought, Elvin lowered his head, then raised an eyebrow and asked, “Sit? Or do?”
He deliberately made his words suggestive, drawing out his tone.
Combined with Elvin’s roguish face, who wouldn’t read too much into his teasing?
Even Diane blushed at his words.
Faced with the question, Diane momentarily forgot how to respond.
Elvin didn’t wait long but sat right beside her.
They were so close they could bump into each other.
Diane’s heart pounded wildly, her face flushing crimson.
Seeing this, Elvin tilted his head and asked bluntly, “So you really are a virgin?”
His eyes smiled, but turbulent waves churned beneath.
Diane met his gaze and nodded, “Mm.”
Hearing this, Elvin suddenly burst out laughing.

Seeing him laugh, Diane grew nervous and uneasy.
But the next moment, Elvin wiped the smile off his face. “Since you’re a virgin,” he said, “how about we hook up when you’re free?”
His blunt words made Diane’s face redden further. She asked knowingly, “Hook up? What does Elvin want to hook up for?”
Seeing Diane feign innocence, Elvin felt waves of disgust.
But he held back, not showing it.
Elvin smiled, leaning closer until he almost kissed her cheek, then stopped.
Meanwhile, he drawled, “When Ms. Huffman comes, won’t you know then?”
Elvin left it mysterious instead of spelling it out,
But the implication was so obvious–how could Diane not understand?
Meanwhile, upstairs.
Bianca looked down. From her distance, Elvin and Diane appeared to be kissing.
She couldn’t hear their words, but them sitting together and kissing meant their relationship wasn’t simple.
Just moments ago, Bianca had been touched by Elvin’s kindness to her.
She’d even wondered: if he truly cared and she rejected him, might she miss out on real love?
But now, seeing this, it was all the same.

Whether Blair or Elvin, they were cut from the same cloth–she shouldn’t have been moved.
Even so, Bianca couldn’t help shedding tears.
She stood in the wind, letting the cold breeze dry her face.
Her heart instantly turned icy.
Luckily, she hadn’t fallen too deep.
Everything was still in time.
Bianca stopped watching and slowly returned to the ward.
She’d just lain down when Elvin returned.
Elvin entered cautiously, afraid of disturbing Bianca.
But reaching the bedside, he found her awake, big dark eyes wide
open.
Seeing this, Elvin asked, “Not asleep yet?”
Bianca glanced at him and replied flatly, “Mm.”
Elvin sensed something was off with Bianca and tentatively asked, “Want me to hold you while you sleep?”
Instead of answering, Bianca questioned him, “What were you doing out for so long?”
She was giving him a chance. If he told the truth, she thought, she’d still be willing to hear him out.
But Elvin didn’t mention Diane, explaining instead, “I just stepped out

to make a work call.”
Bianca’s heart sank. She smiled faintly and replied, “Okay.”
Seeing her smile, Elvin pressed, “So can I hold you now?”
He was about to get on the bed when Bianca stayed put, watching him coolly. “No,” she refused, “I want to sleep alone.”
After saying that, Bianca turned around, leaving her back to Elvin.
Elvin froze in place, suddenly at a loss.
Just a moment ago, everything was fine..
He felt uneasy inside, so when he sat down by the hospital bed, he asked, “Are you uncomfortable somewhere?”
Bianca didn’t turn around, but answered, “No, I’m just tired.”
