Colin and Irene were stunned into silence. After a while, Colin finally stammered, “Impossible! Joanna is my wife; how could she be with Uncle Wallace? And didn’t Uncle Wallace dislike women and wasn’t he infertile?”
Bryan looked at Colin, frustrated. “You ran away from your wedding, so Joanna married Wallace. That’s something everyone in New York knows, but you don’t know?”
Colin was stunned. After he and Irene ran away, they cut ties with New York to avoid being caught and spent their days traveling abroad.
It wasn’t until recently that all his cards were frozen, leaving them penniless. They even had to wash dishes for a month just to scrape together enough money for plane tickets home.
Once they returned, they headed straight to the Thomson’s villa, with no time to inquire about anything else.
“Wallace was infertile. That’s true, but it didn’t mean he had no chance of having children. Over the past few years, he’s seen top doctors both at home and abroad, and that’s how he and Joanna ended up having a child.”
Bryan said sadly, “You’ve ruined everything now.”
Thinking of Wallace’s ruthless methods, Colin collapsed to the ground as if his bones had been drained of strength.
Suddenly, several grim–faced bodyguards walked in.

The bodyguards ignored their cries and dragged them away.
After Wallace carried me to the car, the driver sped off, reaching the hospital in just ten minutes.
I was pushed into the delivery room, and half an hour later, I gave birth to a stillborn baby boy. The doctor was about to dispose of the child as per the usual protocol.
I stopped her. “Bring the baby to me.”
The doctor hesitated and said softly, “Mrs. Thomson, it’s better not to look. It might leave a lasting psychological scar.”
In a weak voice, I replied, “He’s my child. No matter what, I have to send him off properly.”
At Wallace’s signal, the doctor handed me the baby.
His skin was completely red, and he was only slightly larger than the palm of my hand. I carefully cradled him, afraid that any wrong move might hurt him.
Just this morning, he was happily kicking inside me, interacting with me, but now, he was gone, leaving me forever.
Tears uncontrollably streamed down my face. “Baby, I’m sorry… I couldn’t protect you.
“Baby, please don’t be mad at Mommy. Wake up, please, okay?”

I placed the baby on my chest, trying to transfer my body warmth to him, hoping for a miracle, but in the end, nothing happened.
Wallace hugged me and the baby with red eyes. I knew his sorrow was no less than mine.
Wallace was 10 years older than me. When Colin abandoned me at the wedding, Wallace stepped in and married me. I thought he only did it to protect my reputation and the business interests of the Thomson and Scott families.
That night, I placed the divorce papers in front of him, but he tore them up. Wallace said that for all 34 years of his life, he’d been asexual.
But today, he’d fallen in love at first sight with me in my wedding dress, so he was serious about this marriage and hoped I would be too.
After we got married, he showered me with affection. He gave me expensive jewelry and designer dresses without me even mentioning them, and he was attentive to my every need.
Being a girl at heart, I gradually fell for him. Besides being older, he was also incredibly wealthy, and every night he drove me wild with pleasure.
One day, I saw a friend’s newborn baby, and my heart melted. I suddenly wanted to have a child of my own.
