Chapter 10 Trystan’s Here
“Xavier?”
Not knowing the real relationship between Eliana and Xavier, Karina simply was bugged by Eliana being here. “Time to let Ms. Harrell go, right? Dad and Mom are home, waiting for me to take you back. It’s been ages since they last saw you, and they miss you very much.”
Her gentle voice snapped Xavier out of it.
The Hogan family owed the Norton family. He ought to visit her parents because of that.
Yet, observing Eliana’s face, he didn’t see the slightest change in her expression after she heard Karina’s words at all.
It seemed that she no longer cared about anything related to him.
He felt stifled, and his expression became icier and more complicated.
“It’s over there.” He raised his chin.
Eliana looked over and saw her passport beneath the water dispenser. Like her, it was discarded.
“Thanks.” Swallowing her bitterness, she walked over.
After picking it up, she turned to leave without hesitation.
She could feel his sharp, cold gaze following her throughout this whole
time.
The second she pushed open the CEO’s office door, she sensed gazes from her former colleagues.

Some were enjoying the farce, some were sympathetic, and most of them were gossipy.
Some said she was kicked out of the company by Xavier’s fiancée for seducing him.
She was legally married to Xavier but ended up the same as a homewrecker.
After stepping into the elevator, she finally couldn’t hold back any longer, and her eyes turned red. But she still forced herself not to shed tears.
Reaching the lobby, she heard footsteps from behind her–it was actually Micah. Holding an umbrella, he said, “Eliana, it’s raining. If you’re cold, you can have my jacket.”
It seemed not everyone in the Hogan Group was cold–hearted.
Eliana stopped him as he was about to take it off, enduring the bitterness in her heart. “Thanks, Micah, but that won’t be necessary. I don’t think we’ll ever meet in the future.”
Micah parted his lips, but he actually was at a loss for words at her dejected look
While he was hesitating, she had already left the company resolutely and stepped into the downpour.
At a time like this, only a tempest could shake her awake.
She hailed a cab to go to the airport again. Looking at the violent storm outside the window, she could vaguely make out the city where she had lived for several years. Finally, she couldn’t help but dial a number.
The second the call was connected, she said wearily, almost using every bit of strength she had left, “Trystan…”
The man on the other end of the line hung up quickly after a few seconds.

Eight hours later, a private jet landed at Steelville Airport.
Clad in black, a tall, beefy man held Eliana in his embrace.
Behind them, the bodyguards dragged her suitcase while escorting them to the jet.

As night fell, a black Bentley glided through the gates of the Hogan’s
mansion.
Sitting in the back seat, Xavier looked up at the two–story villa under the lush shrubs outside the window.
Unlike the usual, the lights in the bedroom were off today.
It was reminding him Eliana had left.
Sensing the cold aura from him, Karina figured he was upset by what her father had said during the meal. “Xavier, I know what happened between Corrine and Lemuel was a fatal blow to the friendship between our families. You don’t have to feel the pressure to marry me soon. And don’t take my dad’s words to heart–he’s just anxious now that I’m pregnant…”
Xavier came back to his senses when hearing the names of Corrine Norton, Karina’s sister, and Lemuel Hogan, his brother. He glanced at the crumpled cuff she had pinched and said, “It’s wrinkled.”
She loosened her grip right away.
Then he pushed open the door and got out of the car.
She was stunned. Gawking at his back, she thought, “I don’t get it. In the office, he allowed me to sit on his lap, but now, he’s like a completely different person. What has gotten into him?”
But she didn’t have time to dwell on it. She soon stepped out, too, and

followed him.
