Chapter 14 Get a Room
Having no other choice, Micah could only call Eliana a few more times, but all he heard was a busy tone.
As he tried again, Xavier grabbed the phone away with a sullen face.
“Are you done? Micah, tell Xavier he can forget about being part of the exhibition,” Eliana said impatiently.
She didn’t hear any reply.
After a while, a deep voice rang out. “It’s me.
Her breath hitched.
But Xavier didn’t take her words to heart. “Tll raise the donating amount from 50 million dollars to 80 million dollars. Are we qualified now?”
Eliana was already in Jakob’s super sportscar. “Xavier, stop wasting time.”
Since she had been busy, Jakob insisted on taking her out for a tour at the night market. She had no choice but to get in his car.
“If 80 million dollars isn’t enough, I’ll donate 160 million dollars. If you still don’t think that’s enough, I’ll report this to the Global Chamber of Commerce and let them decide. Your group isn’t the only organizer.”

Eliana was rendered speechless. Meanwhile, Jakob, who was driving, got impatient and snatched her phone away.
“Could you be any more shameless? You already divorced my babe. Stop haunting her! What is it? You wanna get back together with her? No way!

She’s mine. Just so you know, I’m taking her to get a room right now.”
With that, he hung up and tossed the phone away.
Eliana was slack–jawed. “Get a room?”
“You have no idea. Those very words alone would make him explode.”
She was rendered speechless.
Xavier pulled an extremely long face after hanging up.
Micah, oblivious to the look on his face, muttered to himself, “Eliana resigned. How come she’s targeting the Hogan Group all of a sudden? And she’s now the GM assistant of Apollo Group, the cross–national group? Everyone knows how hard it is to get a job there. How did she pull that off?”
Xavier wondered the same thing, and his mood went even fouler.
“Book two tickets to Plymbourne right now,” he said coldly. “And, if I remember correctly, Sir Gallagher is still the chairman of the Global Chamber of Commerce, right?”
“Yes, Mr. Hogan. He was re–elected in the recent election.”
“Tell Kelton I’ll see him in eight hours.”
Kelton Gallagher was Leonel Gallagher’s only son, the heir of the Gallagher family–one of the four major families overseas. He was a well- known playa and never went anywhere without being accompanied by pretty women.
He was also one of Xavier’s few friends.
But they seldom kept in touch since he lived overseas.

to pack his luggage.
The second he entered, he saw workers from a decoration company coming out of the elevator.
“Xavier…”
He instantly had a bad feeling and frowned. Before the two people on the couch could stand up and say more, he strode into the elevator and went straight to the third–floor master bedroom.
Everything inside was new, from the curtains to the bedsheet, even including the wardrobe. Not even a trace of Eliana was left.
“Who did this?” He glanced over at the maid, who was cleaning on the
third floor.
She stuttered. “It was…. Ms. Norton
A shadow fell over his countenance, and he was about to snap.
“Xavier.” Just then, Karina walked over while stroking her slightly bulging belly.
She said, seeming generous, “I know about you and Ms. Harrell. Since you’re divorced, everything here should be replaced. Right? You won’t blame me for doing this without telling you in advance, will you?”
Instead of saying anything, Xavier looked at Amina beside Karina.
Amina instantly defended herself, “Eliana left a ring behind, and Karina saw it. I could only tell her everything. What else could I do?”
She was quite annoyed, in fact, because Karina had “interrogated” her either intentionally or unintentionally today.
“You know what? I bet Eliana did it on purpose. She just wants to annoy us all.”

It was his bedroom, and he saw no ring. How come Karina saw it?
