Chapter 15 Restore
“This one.”
Karina held out her palm, revealing a simply designed ring that emitted an unusual glow.
The second Xavier’s gaze fell upon it, he remembered that it was the only gift he had given Eliana during their three years of marriage.
He took it from Karina and rubbed his thumb against its inside.
Eliana and his initials, “HH“, were engraved inside.
He remembered–back then, Eliana had wanted him to put on the ring for her, but he had said impatiently, “Later, maybe.”
But she had still worn it for three years, never taking it off even once.
Noticing that he was in a trance, Karina was slightly displeased, but she maintained a graceful smile. “She actually left such an important thing behind? Xavier, shall we give it back to her, or…..
“Why would we do that?” Amina snapped. “She acted all nice and gentle, and finally, she couldn’t keep up the act and showed her true colors. She doesn’t deserve the ring!”
“Agreed. I knew she was scheming the second she lived with us,” Brianna echoed.
Xavier’s expression darkened at her remarks as he clutched the ring box.
Suddenly, Jakob’s words about getting a room with Eliana echoed in his ears, and his face twisted in displeasure. A surge of inexplicable anger filled his chest, which irritated him even more.

He thought, “It turns out Eliana had already found another man. No. wonder she was so eager to leave.”
His voice was icy and resolute. “Toss it away.”
Hearing this, Amina said in an even harsher tone, “That’s right! We
should toss away everything she’s touched. I don’t wanna see any of them again.”
Brianna nodded quickly. “I agree with Mom. We’ll get new ones.
Yet, Xavier didn’t respond to them. Instead, he looked around the bedroom and ordered a maid not far away from them, “You have a day to restore everything to its original state. I hate it when others interfere with my personal space.”
With that, he tugged at his tie impatiently and walked into the bedroom to pack up.
Karina’s face turned utterly pale at once as she stood in place motionlessly for a long time.
Meanwhile, Brianna sat back on the couch and muttered, pulling a long face, “It’s such a hassle. We redecorated it. So what? That vixen used to change the room’s style every day, trying to lure him into sleeping with her, and he never reprimanded her so harshly.”
He had never treated Eliana nicely when she was here.
And now and
she was gone, he wouldn’t let anyone touch her stuff.
What was wrong with him?
Amina was good at reading the room. Noticing the displeased look on Karina’s face, she flicked Brianna’s head at once. “Enough! Stop running your mouth!”
Then she turned around and comforted Karina almost fawningly, “Xavier

is kind of a neat freak. He doesn’t like it when others touch his things. Don’t take it personally.”
Yet, Karina kept gazing at Xavier, as if she hadn’t heard Amina at all.
This used to be Xavier’s bedroom with Eliana. Since he slept here, it was inevitable he’d think of Eliana and those moments they had shared. together.
But she also knew Xavier meant it–she had to restore the room.
It was so unsettling.
She realized Xavier’s indifference to Eliana was just an act. Maybe even he didn’t realize–he cared about Eliana.
An idea struck her as she watched Xavier pack up swiftly.
