Chapter 4 This Is Over
Eliana shoved Xavier’s shirt off and kissed down from his lower abdomen. A mix of burning desire and desperation left even her ears burning.
Her breath hitched, her voice raw, but she didn’t stop. “You just asked why you married me, didn’t you? I almost forgot. The first duty of a wife. is to bear her husband’s children. I’m only doing my part.”
“How dare you!” he snapped, his abs tightening with anger.
“I sprayed something in here. This will be over soon. Just hold on. All I want is a child with you… That’s all,” she said through groans.
The obedient, reserved Eliana everyone knew was gone. She went wild
with her mouth and hand.
Xavier felt his body betray him. He was getting hard, gasping and moaning.
But he fought against it and grabbed her hand. “Eliana, you disgust me.”
The fire in her eyes flickered and died.
She looked up at him, holding onto the last bit of hope. “Having sex with me really makes you that sick?”
“Yes!” He didn’t hesitate, staring at her.
That one word nearly shattered her.
The next second, he shoved her away, disgust clear in his face.

He didn’t bother buttoning his shirt before storming out.
The door slammed behind him, and the room fell silent.
Eliana sank to the floor, her nails digging into her palm. Her eyes held nothing but self–pity and mockery.
She told herself this was it. It had to end here.
The servants were setting dishes in the dining room while Irene was at the chapel, praying.
“Well, well. Barely survived a plane crash, and now you’re dragging a suitcase around. Going on vacation?” asked Brianna Hogan, Xavier’s younger sister and a sophomore at Steelville University.
She had never liked Eliana and never hid it. “Whatever you’re doing, you. better braid my hair first and drop me off at campus.”
Eliana had a knack for styling hair, and Brianna’s classmates never stopped praising her work.
She kept walking, suitcase in tow, until she ran into Xavier’s mother, Amina Gilbert, on the ground floor. Amina looked elegant and freshly dressed.
Amina was Jarrett Hogan’s second wife. She never hid her disdain for Eliana’s family background and treated her accordingly.
“Eliana, why are you dragging a suitcase around this early? Put it down and help Maria clean out a guest room. Someone’s moving in.”
Eliana blinked, having a bad feeling. Brianna chimed in, “Someone? Who?”
“Karina, of course,” Amina replied.
“Wait, Karina is back?” Brianna looked surprised.

“Not just back. She’s pregnant with your brother’s kid. Some fortuneteller said this place is good for her, so she’ll be staying a while.”
Amina glanced at Eliana, her tone smug. Karina had always been her ideal daughter–in–law. If not for that incident, Karina would have been the one to marry Xavier.
Amina lifted her chin, satisfied. “What are you standing around for? Hurry up.”
Eliana had spent years following her orders and keeping her happy, but not today.
Eliana’s eyes were cold as she stared back.
She felt the hurt, but she wouldn’t let it show. “Xavier and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. Let someone else do it.”
