Chapter 7 The Live Show

The words seemed to ignite Cadell’s desire. I could feel the intensity in his actions

He pressed me against the side, his voice heated. Hold on, Lorna. Il lock the door.”

Lorna, clearly unable to wait, kissed him as she spoke. No need, Cadell. I’ve got someone keeping watch outside. No one will come in. Didn’t you say you enjoyed sneaking around with me? Doesn’t this make it all the more thrilling?”

That pushed Cadell into a frenzy. I could hear the unmistakable sound of fabric rippinglikely Cadell tearing Lorna’s clothes off

Lorna laughed breathlessly, scolding him for being bad, but her voice was laced with pleasure

Ewww…

I held back the bile rising in my throat, slowly moving my fingers towards the button on my shirtsomething I had prepared for

today

notice

Cadell and Lorna were too caught up in each other to notice my movements

I pressed the button, waiting for Edmund’s arrival

I just hoped Edmund would hurry. I didn’t want Cadell to finish before he got here

I closed my eyes and feigned sleep. Even though I couldn’t see them, their disgusting noises were more than enough to paint the

picture

Cadell, smug and selfsatisfied, teased her. Are you jealous because of the wedding? Is that why you’re so eager tonight?”

Lorna moaned in response. Exactly. But, I’ve wanted this for so long. Just imagining us doing this in front of your brideit

makes it all the more exciting.”

What did that mean? Was she implying that if I hadn’t set things in motion with Edmund, she would’ve done this anyway

I fought back the rising anger, forcing myself to stay calm

The thought was unbearable. What if I hadn’t caught them in the act? Would Cadell have drugged me on our wedding night, only

to have this affair right in front of me

Would I have continued to think Cadell was the perfect man, blissfully ignorant of his betrayal

Just thinking about it made me feel physically sick

Before I could bear it any longer, a sharp scream from outside broke through. No! You can’t go in!”

I breathed a quiet sigh of relief. Edmund had arrived

Cadell, still lost in the moment, paused and asked, What was that noise?”

Lorna, barely able to contain herself, didn’t care about anything else. Don’t worry about it. You’re just hearing things, Cadell. Come on, make me feel good.”

Distracted by her, Cadell dismissed the noise, not realizing its significance

It was his home, after all. To him, it was a sanctuary where nothing could touch him

So, a little noise? No big deal

I couldn’t help but smirk

Then, I opened my eyes

It seemed like Lorna was enjoying the thrill, staring at me the entire time Cadell was on top of her

The moment I opened my eyes, our gazes locked

The instant our eyes met, her face went deathly pale, and her expression was one of pure terror. She opened her mouth but

couldn’t make a sound

I looked back at her with a smile, watching her reaction. She looked like she had seen a ghost

Cadell, noticing her reaction, finally asked, What’s wrong?”

Lorna snapped back to reality at his question and, trembling, pointed at me. Sheshe’s awake!”

Cadell’s eyes widened in shock as he followed Lorna’s finger. And there I was, wide awake, staring at him

I gave him a halfsmile, my voice dripping with mockery. Does it feel good to f**k her right in front of me?”

Cadell’s face turned a deep shade of crimson. You’re awake?!”

I didn’t answer him. Instead, I gracefully sat up, propping my head on my hand. My eyes slowly moved between him and Lorna and I sighed. It’s a good thing we didn’t do anything before the wedding. Otherwise, with yourcondition, I can’t even imagine how much I would have lost.”

Cadell, fuming, raised his hand as if to strike me, but before he could even get close, the door was kicked open with force

Cadell froze, his expression a mix of disbelief and horror

There they werestill tangled up together, their bodies exposed, glistening with sweat. It didn’t take much to figure out what had Just transpired

Edmund stopped in, his face set in stone. Behind him, a group of reporters with cameras followed

Cadell’s face turned green. He scrambled to separate himself from Lorna, but it was too late. The cameras had already captured every last detail of their shameful act

I watched Cadell, still savoring the moment. His panic was palpable as he shouted, Who are you people?! What are you doing

here? Get out now

He was in such a rush to cover up the situation that he didn’t even notice Lorna’s frozen expression

100

I couldn’t help but glance at her

How does it feel, cheating with someone else’s groom, only to have your own fiancé catch you in the act, right here and now

Still worth it?”

I turned my attention back to the reporters. With a voice dripping with faux innocence, I addressed the cameras. You’ve come just in time. Cadell is truly despicable! Not only did he d**g me on our wedding night, but he’s been having an affair with his foster sister in front of me! This is beyond cruel!”

The reporterseyes lit up as soon as they heard the words faster sister.”

What was more sensational than a scandal in high society? Not really, unless the scandal involves something morally

questionable

It didn’t matter that Albert had previously defended Cadell, claiming that Lorna was merely their adopted daughter to explain away the affair. They had hoped people would believe it was all fabricated

But now, Cadell and Lorna had been caught redhanded. The foster brother and sisterlie was blown to pieces, and they were

left with no way to save face

I was curious to see how Cadell and Lorna would try to spin this, especially with so many eyes on them

Finally, Cadell snapped back to reality, his breath quick and shallow. He turned to me, accusing. This is all your doing, isn’t it?”

I couldn’t help but smirk. He was just now figuring it out

Too late

Let’s see how Cadell handles this scandal. It’s going to hurt much more than he ever expected.‘
