Chapter 8 The Cheating Groom

I quickly slipped into character, putting on a show of being the innocent, betrayed one, my body shaking with anger. I thought you were way better than this. But I was wrong. Even now, you’re still trying to smear my name! Was I the one who forced you to cheat on me on our wedding night?”

Cadell’s face went pale with rage, but I knew he realized I was acting

So what

The media didn’t know, the public didn’t know. Even if they did, who would believe them

After all, I was the victim here

Cadell was stumped, unable to find words. He wrapped the blanket tighter around himself and yelled at the reporters, Get out! Get out right now! Who gave you permission to be here?!”

His fury was almost comical, and I couldn’t help but enjoy the sight

These reporters were here for a big story, and they weren’t about to leave now

When no one reacted to his outburst, Cadell’s expression darkened even more

He instinctively looked down at Loma, but when he saw her, her face drained of color as she stared at the ground, her eyes wide as if she’d just seen a ghost

Cadell furrowed his brow and couldn’t help but ask, What’s wrong with you?”

Lorna snapped out of it and quickly stood up, breathing heavily. She didn’t answer him, instead frantically trying to get dressed

But her clothes were in tatters, torn by Cadell, and there was no way she could put them on now

With Edmund’s cold gaze on her, she looked like a deer caught in headlights, completely embarrassed. She was on the verge of

tears

Watching her, I felt a deep sense of satisfaction..

Cadell wasn’t an i***. Seeing Lorna like this, he seemed to finally realize something was off. His tone grew sharper. What’s

going on?!”

Lorna flinched, fumbling for words but failed to speak

Just then, Edmund stepped forward, looking down at Lorna from above

Her state was a mess her face pale, gasping for air, and her body covered in hickeys

tters to attend to, but

Edmund’s eyes locked onto hers as he spoke, every word cold and precise. You told me you had family matters to

it turns out you were busy sleeping with someone else’s groom? Lorna Hill, did you forget that you are my fiancée? Did you?!”

His words hit like a ton of bricks, clearing the fog in everyone’s mind

The reporters behind Edmund couldn’t contain their excitement

This was a story that could make headlines

They eagerly aimed their cameras at Lorna and Cadell, determined not to miss any of their reactions

I couldn’t help but smile faintly at the spectacle

Cadell was frozen, stunned by what Edmund had just revealed. He stared at Lorna, his voice trembling. Isis that true?”

Ikaised an eyebrow. So Cadell didn’t know about Lorna and Edmund

This was getting interesting. Lorna really knew how to keep a secret

Lorna’s quilt was written all over her face. She quickly tried to explain, No, Cadell, listen. I can explain. It’s not what you think”

Before she could finish, Edmund Interrupted, a mocking smile playing on his lips. At this point, you should be explaining to me

not him!”

It was only then that Lorna seemed to realize the gravity of her situation. Stuck between Edmund and Cadell, she looked utterly

helpless

It seemed like no matter how she explained herself, she was doomed

I couldn’t help but feel a small sense of relieffinally, the anger I’d been bottling up had a brief outlet

Edmund wasn’t done. He pressed on, his words dripping with sarcasm. Three months ago, you were begging me to propose, asking for a villa, diamonds, and five million dollars in cash. You promised mecried eventhat you would never betray me. Lorna Hill, have you forgotten all that?”

The room went silent, the tension palpable

Cadell’s breath became shallow, and his

es reddened as he processed Edmund’s words

eyes

I couldn’t help but laugh inwardly. Cadell really did love Lorna, didn’t he? Even now, he couldn’t bring himself to be angry

Was he waiting for her to explain herself? How pathetic. But it didn’t matter

Instead of an explanation, Lorna was met with whispers from all around

I heard one person mutter, Oh my god, she took all that money and is sleeping with her foster brother? How low can she get?”

Did you hear? She was wearing a wedding dress earlier, trying to marry the groom in secret!”

Disgusting.”

She and the groom drugged the real bride earlier and then went into the bride’s bedroom to dothat? What a trashy person! How can anyone be so shameless?”

Lorna’s face flushed with embarrassment as she heard these remarks

She shook her head desperately, trying to block out the whispers, as if doing so would stop the cruel words from reaching her

But Edmund wasn’t about to let her escape. He grabbed her arm and spoke with chilling coldness, You’re truly pathetic, doing something like this at someone else’s wedding. Are you really that desperate for a man? Should I help you find a few more?”

It was clear now that Edmund was genuinely furious

After all, he and Loma were supposed to get married. His anger was understandable

Cadell, who had been stunned into silence by the unfolding drama, finally snapped out of it. Seeing Edmund getting rough with

Loma, Cadell twisted in fury

He stepped forward, standing protectively in front of her. What the hell are you doing?!”

Edmund laughed bitterly. You’re still defending my fiancée when you’re supposed to be taking care of your bride, huh? Should i be impressed by your deep feelingsfor her?”

His words tore away any remaining shred of decency in the situation. Cadell stiffened, suddenly remembering I was still here..

He turned to face me, and I couldn’t help but flash him a sarcastic smile

You know, when you announced you were marrying me, it brought so much attention and support to your company. Now, after all this, do you think those supporters will still stand by you?”

As the weight of my words sank in, Cadell’s face turned ashen, the reality of his situation finally dawning on him
