Chapter 6 His Uncle
–
–
“Welcome to Washington DC, Mistress.”
A smile grazed my lips as the security guard helped me off the plane. I took a deep breath, relishing the sweet scent of freedom.
“Mon Amore, you’ve kept me longing for four years, I hope you’re not here to play games with me now.“>
I chuckled as I stared at the man who’d been in love with me for four years.
While I had pined over Austin Harrington all these years his uncle has been pining after me.
Kian Harrington, Austin’s uncle, was hot as sin with his tall and broad shoulders, chiseled abs, and handsome face. He stared at me with a frown.8
The first time I met Austin’s uncle was when I sneaked into Austin’s party dressed up in what I would consider to be my most sexist outfit just to get his attention.
At that time, I didn’t know who Kian was. In fact, he wasn’t present at the party.
Austin had taken one look at me and sneered, “If you wanted to be a striper, Aria, you should have told me.”
He, his friends, and Mira had laughed mockingly at me. Mira ended up drenching me with a glass of wine.
Humiliated, I ran away from the party and went to a nearby pub where I got drunk into a stupor.
Some hoodlums tried to rape me that night and Kian saved me. I ended up having a one–night stand with him.
When I woke up I disappeared and two weeks later, I saw him at one of Austin’s family gatherings. I found out he was Austin’s youngest Uncle. Very powerful and wealthy.”
Kian had made advances toward me but I refused because I was deeply in love with Austin and despite the one–night–stand I avoided him. When Austin finally married me, Kian didn’t know. Six months ago he reached out to me with a marriage proposal.
He needed me to get married to him so he could claim his part of his grandfather’s will and he would pay me and help me with my designing business.
Kian knew about my talent and he’s always encouraged and supported it even though I avoided him.
I rejected Kian’s proposal but he said he would give me time to think about it.
That was why when I found out Austin was cheating on me I decided I’d had enough of his trash.>
Loving someone and being humiliated for twelve years was more than enough.
So I decided to get married to the one person who is ten times better and bigger than Austin.
“I’m not here to play games, Kian, I want revenge,” I stated.
Kian extended his arm toward me and I took it as he led me inside the house.
“You’ve had a long flight, why don’t you rest first,” Kian said.
I shook my head, “No, I want us to talk about everything right now.”
Kian stared at me. “You’re different.“)
“Bitter women usually are.
“No,” he said, voice quiet. “You look… dangerous.”
I smiled. “Good. Because I am.”
“You’re bleeding.”

I looked down. My palm was scratched from where I had gripped the edge of the plane door too tightly.” “It’s nothing “D
“You always say that,” he muttered, the same way I had after that night in the alley four years ago.
“You always say that,” he muttered.
He stepped forward and handed me a cold towel.
“I saw the footage. The party.“”
“Did you enjoy the show?” I asked, wiping my hand.
“You humiliated Austin in front of half of New York’s elite. He looked like someone had shoved a grenade down his throat.” “Good.”
There was a long silence before he finally said, “I got your room ready. You’ll stay here until you’re ready
My heart skipped. “You kept my studio?”
“I didn’t touch a single thing.”
Back when I tried to start something with Kian four years ago he opened a studio for me in his mansion.
But the moment Mira abandoned him and I realized I had a chance I left Kian.
I blinked back the sting in my eyes. “Thank you.”
to launch the collection,”
He handed me a folder. “Twenty–five fashion houses reached out to me today. They want to buy your designs. Full rights. Cash up front.” I’m not selling,” I said.
11:59 PM
He nodded. “That’s what I told them.”
I ran my hand through my hair and sank into the nearest chair.
“I lost the baby,” I said quietly.”
Kian didn’t speak.
“It’s what I wanted. But still… it hurts.“}
He came and knelt in front of me, his palm brushing mine. “Then let it hurt.”
We sat in silence.}
Then I spoke again.
“Austin and Mira killed my brother and my father knew but he signed it off anyway.”}
Kian sighed, “My nephew has always been a terrible person.“}
“They were also going to kill me,” I added.}
Kian’s fingers stilled on my palm as he cocked his eyebrow at me.}
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked in a quiet voice.
I stared at him, “I’m here now. I want to make those motherfuckers pay for everything they’ve ever done to me.”
Kian nodded, “We will love, I promise,” then he stood up, “But right now you should sleep. Tomorrow, we’ll get married.” Tomorrow, I’ll be Austin’s uncle’s wife. And tomorrow, I begin plotting their ruin.§
