Chapter 21
Ash’s brow furrowed, and she felt a bit confused.
Half an hour elapsed before she arrived at the police station. Upon entering, she provided her name and passport. Then, she was escorted to a modest room to give her statement.
It turned out those people, who caused trouble in Kickboxing Club, had reported the incident. The club’s president, who seemed to have suffered severe injuries, requested an examination.
“Sir, allow me to elucidate the matter,” Ash began confidently, meticulously telling the entire situation to the officer. “It was an act of self–defense on my part.”
The officer nodded, a trace of amazement dancing in his eyes.
The young teenager before him appeared to be 17 or 18, yet exuded an aura of composure and wisdom that belied his age.
Ash’s eyes were clear and unblemished when she spoke, which convinced the officer that she was not lying at all.
Not long after, the president of the Kickboxing Club and the parents of its members arrived.
They created a sudden commotion outside the interrogation room.
The parents shouted vehemently, demanding justice.
The officer had to intervene to restore order, silencing the clamor momentarily.
However, the uproar soon resumed.
Sirena and Chelsea breezed into the police station in a hurry with gloomy faces.
“We are Ash’s family, here to secure his release.”
“You’re Ash’s family? Just look at the harm your son inflicted on mine! If my son can’t have children in the future, your family will have to compensate for it!”
Sirena’s mouth twitched, and she felt deeply embarrassed.
The Feron family’s children had always been well–behaved and never involved in any wrongdoing.
Little did she expect that her first visit to the police station would be on account of this unruly Ash!
“Sirena, you see, this Ash is truly unruly. How dare he inflict such ruthless harm on someone, almost leaving that kid the last of his family line!”
“Chelsea, cut it out. We are here to bail him out, not to send him to prison.” Sirena rubbed her forehead fretfully.
Chelsea crossed her arms and rolled her eyes indifferently. “Oh, my dear sister–in–law, you are too naive. This troublemaking brat, Ash, needs to learn a lesson. In my opinion, we should just let him spend a few days in the police station.”
“Are you truly Ash’s family? Or is it because you don’t want to pay compensation, so you’d rather see him behind bars!” The parents of the injured child couldn’t contain their anger.
Although Ash had erred, he was still just a child, after all.
But what was the matter with these people? Were they so eager to see Ash end up in jail?
How heartless!
“Officer, since the other party is not willing to settle the case privately, let’s abide by the rules and procedures,” the concerned parent said anxiously. After all, she cared for her own son so deeply.
“We are still investigating this matter, so everyone should remain calm. The injury report has not been released yet, so let’s wait patiently.”
The plaintiff and the defendant’s children and parents sat in two separate rows.
Ash walked out of the interrogation room, but instead of taking her seat, she leaned against the wall, seemingly relaxed. She put on her headphones and listened to the news, showing no signs of anxiety.
“Sirena, look at him, acting all casual. It’s so infuriating! Mark my words, once the results are out, just admit it and never try to settle it privately”
“You’re right.” After much hesitation, Sirena was eventually convinced.

After ten minutes of waiting, the officer finally arrived with the surveillance footage from the school playground and the injury report.
Our investigation confirms this student’s account. It was you few who started the fight, and his response was in self–defense. Furthermore, the injury report shows that it does not qualify as minor injuries and cannot be claimed.”
“Really? Then we won’t suc.”
“Right, no lawsuit.”
Feeling somewhat embarrassed, a few parents got up and left, escorting their children.
But as they tried to make their escape, Ash stepped forward and blocked the doorway.
Standing tall with her arms crossed and a determined stance, she emitted an aura of defiance. “You may choose not to sue, but I’m ready to take legal action!”
