Chapter 25
Ash returned to her room, and the very first thing she attended to was cleaning her hair.
With her short locks, the process took just a few minutes, and after a nonchalant towel dry, her hair was nearly parched.
She then strolled over to the couch, settling in as she picked up her cell phone when it rang twice.
The initial message hailed from an unknown number.
And the second one came from the bank.
[Your credit card has received 6 million dollars.]
A frown creased her forehead, and she dialed her adoptive father’s number without hesitation.
She tried twice, but there was no response.
So, she decided to call Rodney, her foster father’s assistant, instead.
“Hello, Mr. Feron?”
“Rodney, never again should you transfer me any more money. I’m an adult now and do not need an allowance.”
“Mr. Feron, I’m afraid that’s not possible. You’ll always be a child in your adoptive father’s heart, and it’s only right for a father to give his child pocket money.”
Ash listened intently to the conversation when the door to her room was suddenly flung open.
Her eyes immediately flashed with a defensive chill. “Rodney, I gotta hang up now.”
The call ended, and she looked up to see Sandra entering with a tray.
“Who granted you access?” Ash’s voice was as cold as a tiger whose territory had been mercilessly invaded.
Sandra couldn’t help but tremble in fear.
Sandra hesitated for a moment before stepping forward rigidly.
“Ash, I came to offer my apologies. I behaved foolishly before and did something stupid. Please don’t take it personally.”
She placed the food on the table, attempting a fake smile. “Try these treats and this coffee. I made it for you.”
Ash slightly narrowed her eyes with a sharp gaze, maintaining her unapproachable posture. “I don’t indulge in sweets.”
Coffee isn’t sweet. I didn’t add milk or sugar.” Sandra still smiled and moved the coffee towards Ash. “Can you cancel your trip to report me to the school committee?”
“So that’s what you bring coffee for?” Ash stared at Sandra as if trying to peer right through her.
Sandra suppressed her temper and offered a nod. “Ash, I’d like to be reconciled with you.”
While she spoke, Sandra extended her hand to shake hands with Ash. At the same time, she couldn’t help but curse Ash in her mind.
However, instead of shaking her hand, Ash raised the cup of coffee.
She spat in the coffee indifferently and then offered it to Sandra. “I can forgive you if you drink this coffee.”
Sandra’s hand hung mid–air, frozen in hesitation.
The next moment, she erupted with violent rage and raised her hand as if to overturn the cup of coffee. “You insufferable rube, don’t push me too
far!
She moved aggressively.
However, Ash was quick to evade the attack.
The cup of coffee shook a bit, yet not a single drop of coffee was spilled.
Ash’s lips curled into a faint, dark smile. “This is called treating others the way they treat you, Sandra. Think it over carefully. This is your only chance. Will you face the consequences of getting a major demerit, or will you drink it?”

Chapter 25
“How do you know…”
Sandra wondered if Ash possessed some sort of clairvoyant ability.
How else could Ash know she spat in the coffee?
Sandra was stunned.
The students at Welling Private School were all from prestigious families.
The forces behind the school were mysterious. And the school committee was mainly composed of high–ranking officials‘ wives.
Even the influential Feron family had no sway in the school’s affairs.
Yet, students on the school committee’s blacklist were hard to graduate.
Sandra’s anger caused her shoulders to tremble, and tears poured down her cheeks.
Meanwhile, Ash placed the cup of coffee on the table and raised three fingers, counting down. “3, 2, 1.”
As she uttered “I“, Sandra grabbed the cup of coffee, closed her eyes, and downed its contents in one gulp.
After that, her aggravation turned into frustration, and she burst into tears on the spot before storming out of the room.
It seemed like Ash had forced her to drink poison.
Suddenly, Ash heard someone clapping!
After Sandra ran off, Truman entered the room, clapping his hands. “Ash, is it appropriate to bully your cousin like that?”
“Is it appropriate for you to inform secretly on her?” Ash retorted. Her tone remained calm and was devoid of arrogance.
