Chapter 5 Acknowledge His Identity

The journey of over 180 miles, which would typically take at least two to three hours on a regular motorcycle, was completed in less than two hours with this bike.

The Feron family’s estate sprawled across 67,775 square yards of picturesque natural beauty, with vast fields and lush trees providing seclusion, tranquility, and a sense of complete seclusion.

Outside the estate, a tall and imposing wall surrounded it. From the moment they entered, they could feel the curious gazes of the servants passing by. In their eyes, these two individuals looked like country bumpkins, especially Ash, who though handsome, was covered in dirt and had mud on his shoes.

Ash had noticed the curious looks from the servants, but she paid them no mind.

Alfred could not help but comment, “Mr. Feron, the Feron family’s estate isn’t that impressive. The mansion, both in length and width, is only about three or four miles. The mountains aren’t high enough, the woods aren’t large enough, the lake isn’t deep enough, and the river isn’t wide enough. There are no islands either. Compared to our village, it’s much smaller. Are you really going to live here and sacrifice your comfort?”

Alfred looked around and shook his head with disappointment.

Compared to Ash’s private islands, the Feron family’s estate seemed far too small.

Ash owned several private islands in the Nebula Ocean, and each one was many times larger than the entire Feron family estate. Every island had mountains, water bodies, and vast open spaces, creating a sense of vastness and grandeur that the Feron family’s estate could not match.

King had once said that a person’s breadth of knowledge determined their depth. So Ash was always provided with the best of everything by King, and her residence was spacious as well. Alfred was genuinely concerned. The Feron family’s house was relatively small compared to what Ash was accustomed to. He worried that she might feel uncomfortable and cramped in such surroundings.

“No worries, Alfred. You can stop here. I’ll go in by myself,” Ash replied.

“But…” Alfred was still worried.

Ash smiled at Alfred. However, her smile carried an air of danger, and her demeanor was imposing without being angry.

Alfred did not dare argue any further. He nodded in agreement and respectfully took his leave.

Ash continued to walk along the garden path of the Feron family’s estate. There were dozens of different flowers planted in the garden. Compared to her private islands, it did seem a bit humble.

Suddenly, a servant could not hold back any longer and approached her, demanding to know who she was and why she was trespassing.

With a nonchalant look, Ash glanced at the servant and pulled out a piece of chewing gum from her pocket, popping it into her mouth. “I’m Ash Feron. This is my home. Why can’t I enter?”

Her smile was carefree and even a bit rogue-like, leaving the servant speechless.

The servant was instantly taken aback, and his tongue started trembling. “Y-yes, Mr. Ash. Please wait, I’ll inform Mrs. Sirena Feron right away.”

Ash had not expected the household staff to be so respectful and already call him Mr. Ash just moments after her return. Considering how they had looked down on her before, she found it somewhat amusing.

The whole Feron family went into a frenzy when they heard that Ash had returned.

But the ones who came out to greet Ash were Ash’s second aunt, Chelsea Feron, and her two daughters, Zelda Feron and Sandra Feron.

Feron Group, as a large family enterprise, followed a peculiar tradition. Their daughters, after getting married, did not change their surnames to their husbands’. Instead, they required the husbands to adopt the Feron surname and move into the Feron family’s mansion.

Chelsea and her husband followed this tradition. Their daughters also took their mother’s surname.

Ash did not know that she was actually carrying her mother’s surname and not her father’s.

Her mother, Thea, changed her surname after acknowledging Wayne as her foster father.

Upon seeing Chelsa and her daughters, Ash did not show much reaction at first. Zelda and Sandra had been raised in comfort, but their personalities were quite different. One was active, and the other reserved. One was gentle and elegant, and the other fiery and cunning.

Zelda was the admired young lady, educated and refined. Sandra, on the other hand, was the troublesome and quick-tempered heiress, known to throw tantrums at the drop of a hat.

At that moment, Sandra stood in front of Ash, scrutinizing her, then disdainfully snorted. “It’s been 18 years with no word from you, and now you suddenly show up. Who knows if you’re really Thea’s son? You might be an imposter for all we know.”

“Sis, don’t talk nonsense. Wesley personally found him. He can’t be wrong. This must be our cousin. You should greet him politely.”

Zelda tugged at Sandra’s sleeve, but Sandra raised her chin high, tilting her face. “No way. Look at this country bumpkin’s appearance. Why should I even bother saying hi to him? He’s not worthy.”

Zelda felt apologetic and quickly apologized, “Please don’t mind. Sandra doesn’t mean any harm.”

“Sis, enough with the chitchat. He wants to reclaim his family roots, right? Fine. As long as he crawls into that dog hole over there, we’ll acknowledge his identity.”

Sandra laughed maniacally, pointing to an inconspicuous small hole not far from the grand castle entrance.
