Chapter 4
I didn’t go to the apartment Herman rented for me. Instead, I checked into a postpartum care center.
When the receptionist learned about my abortion, she thoughtfully arranged a secluded floor for me.
A few peaceful days later, a surveillance notification suddenly popped up on my phone.
That was when I realized I had forgotten to deactivate the monitoring account for the apartment I used to share with Herman.
Accidentally tapping on it, I was met with the sight of Herman. passionately kissing his girlfriend as they entered.
When he saw the empty room, he abruptly pushed Bethany Mcbride away. “What’s going on here?”
Herman pulled out his phone to call me, but before the first ring ended, Bethany snatched it away. “Come on! Why are you still thinking about your ex while you’re with me? Focus!”
Bethany wrapped her arms around his neck, her hands slipping under his shirt.
Herman, unable to contain himself, pressed her against the wall, kissing her desperately.
Not even on our first night together had Herman ever been this wild.
Within moments, their clothes lay scattered on the floor.

“Herman, I just got discharged. Be gentle, okay?”
His eyes burning red with desire, Herman pleaded hoarsely, “Bethany, I’ve been holding back too long… How about you take the lead?”
Bethany pouted, lifting his chin playfully, “That depends on your answer.
“Between me and your ex, who do you love more?”
Herman, panting, instantly turned cold. “Hollie is my fiancée. What do you think?
“We’ve agreed from the start this is just mutual satisfaction. If you weren’t so fragile, you wouldn’t even have the chance to take the lead!”
Bethany abruptly pulled away, her eyes welling with tears. “I nearly lost my life just trying to please you! If you don’t want me, go find someone else right now!”
Herman hated it when women cried. He immediately pulled Bethany into his arms, soothing her with kisses until her sobs turned into moans.
I watched expressionlessly as they moved from the sofa to the bedroom, then to the bathroom. Once again, I was reminded that Herman never loved me.
After his incident, I cried secretly every day, but he chose to ignore my swollen eyes.
He even called me dramatic, telling me not to use tears to manipulate him.
Then, he openly embraced different women, saying that even if he once loved me, fooling around now wasn’t a betrayal.
I was glad I hadn’t kept the child.
Because with how obsessed he was with Bethany’s body, even if he

married me, he would have kept seeing her.
After all, I could never learn Bethany’s skills.
As their moans filled the air again, I exited the app and deleted the
account.
The next morning, I was woken up by Herman’s call.
For the first time since the incident, he was the one calling me.
But I saw no reason for us to stay in contact, so I ignored it.
When he couldn’t reach me, he resorted to texting.
“Hollie, what the hell? I agreed to marry you, so why did you throw out all the wedding stuff?”
I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of humiliating me again, so I decided to lie.
“That apartment brought us bad luck. I bought a seaside villa and moved.]
Barely seconds after I sent the message, I received a friend request.
The profile picture was Bethany. I declined immediately.
But she was persistent, leaving a message saying she had an intimate video of me and Herman.
When I finally accepted, she sent their intimate video instead.

Two minutes later, she followed up with “Oh no, I accidentally sent the wrong video, and now I can’t unsend it! What do I do?”
“My bad! I thought such a passionate scene had to be you and Herman! I

was wondering if you were this skilled, why would he still be addicted to me? Turns out I was the leading lady all along!”
“If I were you, I’d at least take some lessons on how to satisfy a man. Maybe then, your man wouldn’t have left you!”
Then, she transferred me 1,500 dollars. “This is the payment for the blood donation. If money can solve the issue, I’d rather pay than give up my
man. We’ll be expecting you at our wedding!”
Faced with such blatant humiliation, I refunded the money. “Consider it my wedding gift. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.”
Then, I blocked Bethany. The next two weeks passed quietly, and I recovered fully.
It was time to leave.
Only after booking my ticket did I realize it was the scheduled wedding
day.
Since I was heading to a friend’s place, I decided to stop by a jewelry store. to pick up a gift.
At the jewelry store, I suddenly remembered ‘that I never collected the wedding bands Herman and I ordered.
I designed them personally, so I figured I should get rid of them.
However, when the clerk checked the records, she told me Herman had picked it up.
Noting the pity in her eyes, I turned and left.
Outside the store, I ran into Herman.
His fingers were interlocked with Bethany’s, and they were wearing the
rings I had designed.
Noticing my gaze, he hurried to explain, “Hollie, the ring-”
“They match you two perfectly.”
I turned and walked away.
He stepped forward to chase after me, but Bethany held him back. “Herman, didn’t you promise to come wedding dress shopping with me today?”
I didn’t look back.
The wedding day arrived. I left the care center and headed straight for the airport.
Meanwhile, Herman’s friends arrived at the apartment he’d rented for me. bringing a makeup artist and a custom wedding dress.
They rang the doorbell for ages, making such a commotion that a neighbor finally came out. “No one’s lived here for a long time. Are you sure you have the right place?”
