Chapter 2
The commotion in the living room still hadn’t stopped. Ever since I pushed her to the ground, Sophie had been crying nonstop.
She threw herself into Rosie’s arms, sobbing as she
“This
is all my fault. I stole Olivia’s life, so she has every right to hate
me.”
Rosie immediately looked at her disapprovingly. “You and she are both my children. In my heart, you are my biological daughter. I won’t allow you to put yourself down like this anymore.”
Jaxon also gently stroked her hair, his expression full of
concern.
Sophie lifted her head from Rosie’s shoulder and met my gaze.
Then she smiled, not a trace of sadness on her face.
Seeing her provocative look, I walked over and flipped the dining table.
Scalding soup and food scattered across the floor, inevitably splashing onto them..
Jaxon frowned. “Olivia, what are you doing? Even if you’re upsel, there’s no need to act so uncouth.”

Rosie quickly pulled Sophie back. Ignoring the stains on her own arm, she hurried to wipe Sophie’s dress clean.
I stood in the midst of the chaos, staring intently at Sophic. “You killed my dog and ate it, didn’t you?”
Sophie shrank fearfully into Rosie’s embrace, successfully gaining protection. “Olivia, I just wanted to eat dog meat. Since there happened to be a dog at home, Dad made it into food for me.”
Her eyes were red–rimmed, her voice firm yet pitiful. “Dad only did this for my sake. If you want to blame someone, blame me. Please don’t be angry with Dad.”
Jaxon raised his hand to stop her, looking at me seriously. “Olivia, I haven’t wronged you, and I’ve fulfilled my
responsibilities as a father. What exactly are you dissatisfied with about this family?”
I kicked over the floor lamp and threw the remaining two chairs across the room. “Rolly wasn’t just any ordinary dog, and certainly not your food.”
Jaxon continued, “It was just a dog.”
Suddenly, the couch made a harsh scraping sound as it moved.
Within five minutes, the room was in complete chaos, and

everyone stood frozen.
Rosie said disappointedly, “Don’t you know Sophic has
depression? She was finally happy for once, but you ruined it all over a dog.”
Jaxon looked at me coldly. “You’re mentally ill. I really regret bringing you back. I should have left you to die out there.”
Sophie, eyes red with tears, pushed the only remaining plate of meat toward me. “Dad, Mom, don’t blame Olivia. Olivia, since you loved this dog so much, I’ll give it back to you.”
I couldn’t help but laugh coldly.
What they didn’t know was that Sophie’s depression was fake, while my mental illness was real.
I let out a soft snort and flexed my wrist.
Sophie cried out to me again, “Olivia…”
Suddenly, a crisp slap cut off her words.
A clear handprint quickly appeared on Sophie’s face, and her crying turned into screaming.
Amid the screaming, Rosie suddenly became stern, no longer able to maintain her elegant, gentle expression.

Almost simultaneously, she slapped me too. “I didn’t bring you back so you could bully Sophie. She developed depression because of your return, but I still kept you here. Why can’t you just be considerate of her?”
I smiled sarcastically.
The beloved Sophie suddenly learning she wasn’t biological and developing depression from fear of abandonment–only these two idiots would believe such a script.
While I was swallowing pill after pill for bipolar disorder, they were worried about whether Sophie had taken the vitamin C from her antidepressant bottle.
Unfortunately, as long as they believed it, Sophie felt it was enough.
Standing behind Jaxon and Rosie, she silently mouthed to me, “I
won.”
