FAKE FUNERAL 10

Chapter 10

At that moment, Julian had changed clothes and met up with Vera. Hand in hand, they left the hospital.

According to plan, they boarded a private jet, with Northern Europe as their first destination.

“Julian, we’re finally free! They say couples who see the Aurora together will be together for all eternity,” Vera leaned against Julian’s chest, her face radiant with undisguised joy.

Julian was stunned for a moment, not feeling as happy as he’d expected. He frowned slightly, Lydia’s calm face inexplicably appearing in his mind.

When she saw him “die,” she showed not the slightest trace of grief.

Lydia had loved him so deeply…

His frown deepened. Perhaps she was staying strong to avoid worrying him, planning to kill herself after his departure?

“Julian, what are you thinking about?” Vera raised her head, looking at him with confusion when she received no response.

Julian snapped back to reality. “Nothing, just a bit tired.”

“As long as you’re okay.” Vera dismissed his concern, snuggling back against him.

“You promised we’d eat at that Michelin-starred restaurant after landing. Don’t use feeling unwell as an excuse to back out,” Vera looked up at him playfully.

Julian nodded, his thoughts drifting to Lydia again.

Whenever she heard he was tired, she would gently massage his temples.

Her gaze was always tender and full of concern, always putting him first, never making demands.

Julian frowned slightly, disturbed by his abnormal fixation on Lydia today, even comparing her to Vera.

They weren’t comparable-he had always loved Vera.

He forced himself to stop thinking about Lydia and kissed Vera’s hair.

He should be happy, finally free from the Hayes family constraints, enjoying life with Vera.

After landing, Julian had managed to push Lydia from his mind. He took Vera to the Michelin-starred restaurant and shopping.

They returned to their luxury hotel suite carrying numerous bags.

The moment they entered, Vera pressed herself against Julian, wrapping her arms around his waist and standing on tiptoe to kiss his cheek, lips, and throat…

She eagerly unbuttoned his shirt, her eyes seductive as she traced circles on his chest with her fingers, utterly alluring.

She wrapped her legs around him, pressing closer and closer.

Julian’s eyes darkened with desire, his Adam’s apple bobbing as Vera ignited his passion. He carried her to the bed.

He relished Vera’s initiative-something Lydia had never given him.

For three days straight, they didn’t leave the hotel room. They tried every sexual position imaginable, exploring every inch of Vera’s body until she was completely spent.

“Julian, will you marry me?” Vera asked expectantly after one encounter, lying on his chest.

Julian’s heart skipped a beat, feeling an inexplicable resistance. Instinctively, he replied, “This is fine as it is. Marriage is too complicated.”

“But don’t you want to marry me and have children?” Vera frowned. She hadn’t planned to wander with Julian forever-she wanted to become the legitimate Mrs. Hayes, with her children as Hayes heirs.

Chapter 10

“We’ll talk about it later,” Julian said, suddenly irritated and unwilling to continue this conversation with Vera.

Vera’s eyes flashed with dissatisfaction, but she climbed on top of him again. “If Julian doesn’t want to marry, then we won’t. I’m willing to stay with you forever, even without a title.”

She lowered her head to kiss his lips, using all her skills to pull him back into the depths of desire.

Julian and Vera spent a week in Northern Europe, essentially cutting off all contact with their previous life, completely unaware of the upheaval happening to the Hayes family.
