Chapter 10 Felicity Embarrasses Them
B
Felicity, with her long legs propped up on her bicycle, watched the scene with nonchalance. Her strong presence was impossible to ignore.
Noah glanced at her. Suppressing his irritation, he shoved a card into her hand, his voice low. “Lissy, take the money, say thank you, and leave.”
Today was the day Ella was to start her medical apprenticeship. He didn’t want any accidents.
Felicity had been sitting casually, her dark eyes indifferent, and she was unconcerned. Upon hearing that, she smiled faintly.
Ten thousand dollars? As a charity for her?
Take the money, say thank you, and leave?
The Walker family was really going all out to paint her as a “poor and opportunistic relative“.
Just when everyone thought Felicity would take the card and leave, the next second, Felicity threw the bank card back at him. Her movement was swift and decisive, her aim accurate.
In an instant, everyone was stunned,
Arabella was unable to control herself and screamed, “What are you doing? We’re trying to help you with a kind heart. Don’t push your luck!”
“Help me?” Felicity propped her chin, a smile slowly spreading on her face. “Madam Sterling, I’m not interested in your play–acting. Keep the money to support Madam Sterling, Mr. Walker. After all, it was not easy for her to become your wife from a mistress.”
“You! You…” Arabella was so angry that her chest was shaking. She almost blurted out the obscenities she shouldn’t say.
Noah also clenched his fists in anger. If there weren’t outsiders present, he might have lost his temper.
Indeed, Arabella was not Noah’s first wife. She had set her sights on him when he came to Bellhaven for business and they had a passionate affair.
Due to the Sterling family’s influence in Bellhaven, Noah had abandoned his first wife in the small county town and married Arabella. However, no one would discuss this openly.
With her words, Felicity had shattered the loving image that Noah and Arabella had painstakingly built.
They had never realized that this girl could be so difficult to deal with.
Everyone present wore an uncomfortable expression.
The old lady was frowning, clearly unaware of this situation.
Ella, who had been brought back, knew the inside story. She was intelligent and knew that this was not the right time to let Felicity continue.
She spoke softly, “Dad, Mom, it’s time to go in for dinner.”
Ella’s words brought Noah and Arabella back to their senses.
Noah was always good at maintaining his image outside and looked at Felicity. “Considering you’re from a small place and don’t know how to hold your tongue, we won’t take it to heart.”
Saying that, he turned to Arabella. “In the future, when you want to help someone, be careful. You never know when a good deed will go unrewarded.”

Arabella was still looking at Felicity, unable to niae the venom in ner eyes.
Felicity let Arabella look. Her face was beautiful, and her deep, dark eyes were inscrutable.
Her attitude irritated Arabella so much that Arabella almost jumped up again.

“Mom, don’t get angry. It’s not worth it for an outsider.” Ella timely took Arabella’s arm. “Mrs. Ashworth is reasonable. She won’t misunderstand you because of someone else’s casual rumor.”
This remark was
a reminder for Arabella not to lose her composure.
At the same time, it gave Arabella a way out, preserving her image.
Sure enough, Arabella quickly regained her senses, sighing regretfully. “I really made a mistake trying to help.”
Ella comforted her. “Mom, you did nothing wrong. People nowadays have a strong sense of pride. When you directly give them a card, sensitive people will think you’re looking down on them.”
Was Ella implying that Felicity was poor and pitiful?
Felicity looked
up, her
eyes full of interest as she looked at Ella.

However, Ella had seen her through the car window this morning and knew that she was there to heal people. Did Ella forget it so quickly?
