Chapter41
The repairman Jeremiah talked about was already in his sixties, he was like a friend of his grandfather, he had seen him twice when he was a
child.
Zachary Brewer lived in this place after retirement, and he dodged many invitations and interviews.
When Paulette mentioned the jade pendant last time, Jeremiah
immediately thought of this elder. He asked at home and actually got the contact information.
When the door was knocked for the third time, white–haired Lilyana Brewer came out to open it.
“Who are you looking for?”
Jeremiah nodded politely and introduced himself, saying, “Madam Brewer, I’m Jeremiah, the one who called Sir Brewer yesterday.”
Lilyana looked him up and down, then suddenly realized, “Jeremiah, you’ve grown so much! Come on in.”
Paulette obediently followed behind.
Go in and give the gift to the old man.
After exchanging greetings, Lilyana led them to sit on the sofa and went to the study to call Zachary out.
Jeremiah glanced sideways at the girl. She sat up straight, hands on her thighs, looking like a well–behaved elementary school student.

He smiled gently and reached out to hold her hand.
“Nervous?”
“I wasn’t very nervous.

Paulette glanced at him and quickly straightened up, saying, “Exactly, these respected elders always have an intimidating presence, you know?”
Jeremiah nodded, “Got it, but I’m here.”
With that, Zachary came out.
Jeremiah put on his suit and stood up, with Paulette following closely
behind.
“Hello, Sir Brewer.”
“Hello, Sir Brewer.”
Zachary nodded, motioning for them to sit. His sharp eyes lingered on Paulette for a moment, then settled on Jeremiah. “Haven’t seen you in so many years, looking quite successful now. Heard from your grandfather that you’ve taken over the company’s business?”
Jeremiah humbly nodded, “Sir Brewer flattered me, I am still learning.”
“Yeah, humility is a good thing.”
Zachary’s eyes lit up and he said, “Is this your little fiancee?”
Paulette:
“1
Fiancee is fiancee. Why add a little?
Jeremiah saw all her reactions and smiled slightly, “Yes, Paula is turning twenty–one soon, already at the legal marriage age.”

“Why aren’t you getting things done yet?”
Zachary raised his eyebrows, “Hey, don’t want to, huh?”

I bumped into Paulette, and she glanced at the man next to her–but he was looking at her too, obviously waiting for her to answer.
Paulette shook her head like a tambourine, “No way, Sir Brewer, I’m in!”
Jeremiah’s eyes twinkled with a smile, then she continued, “I’m getting ready, the first invitation will be sent to you when it’s ready.”
“I’ll be waiting to drink at your wedding!”
After chatting for a while, Zachary finally brought up the main topic, “Didn’t you say there was a jade pendant that needed fixing? Show it to me.”
Paulette quickly took out the jade pendant from her bag, opened it, and handed it to Zachary, nervously asking, “Sir Brewer, can you fix this?”
On her way here just now, she looked up Zachary’s information on her phone. It’s true what Jeremiah said, Zachary is a veteran in the industry, he even has disciples under him.
If even he said it can’t be fixed, then basically… there’s no hope.
Zachary held the jade pendant and examined it closely, frowning.
The more it was like this, the more nervous Paulette became.
Jeremiah gave her a reassuring look, gently tightening his grip on her hand.
Two minutes later, Zachary finally put down the jewelry box.
“The quality of this jade is top–notch, it’s a bit difficult to restore it to its

original state, but… you can give it a try.“.
Hearing him say that, Paulette finally breathed a sigh of relief.
No matter what, there is always hope.
She sincerely said a bunch of thank you words, Zachary agreed one by one, and finally let them go after treating them to a meal.

Coming out of the hallway, Paulette let out a deep breath and said, “Sir Brewer’s presence was just too overwhelming, I felt like I couldn’t even move in front of him.”
Jeremiah chuckled, “He’s used to teaching students in class, so he might seem more serious. Next time you see grandpa, you’ll probably think he’s more formal.”
Thinking about the old man at home, Jeremiah couldn’t help but feel a headache.
What should we do when that enthusiasm scares the little girl?
Paulette didn’t mind, “You might not know, but I actually get along well with older people.”
“Um.”
How could he not know?
“But, even though Sir Brewer was serious, I’m super grateful to him, and to you… you totally helped me solve a big problem!”
Although it’s not fixed yet, Paulette strangely feels relieved.
It’s strange, it seems like as long as Jeremiah is around, there’s nothing that can’t be solved.
