Vincent Rodgers, our partner, saw him like this and poured him a full glass of wine, teasing, “Mr. Swanson, why so distracted today? Thinking about your girlfriend?”
Jeremiah put away his phone, looking somewhat proud, but regretfully said, “Sorry, my fiancee is very strict. Tonight, we can only have tea instead of alcohol. I’ll go home and make it up to her, and apologize to you all next time.”

Vincent followed with a laugh, and clinked glasses with Jeremiah.
“I’m really curious, what kind of charm does your girlfriend have to make Mr. Swanson so faithful.”
“Yeah, what’s the name? Let’s see if it’s someone we know, maybe we even know them!”

cup and said warmly, “She’s Paulette, not some rich man’s daughter, just my princess.”
“Next time, we’ll treat you all to a meal together.”
At this moment, the man outside the room paused.
He seemed to have heard Paulette’s name.
Nelson instinctively turned his toes, and Derrick Marquez in front suddenly turned around in confusion, “What’s up, Mr. Chapman? The people from Forests Technologies are still waiting for us.”
He frowned, and there was laughter coming from the compartment in front of him, it seemed like there wasn’t even a woman’s voice.

room, maybe with a movie and late–night snack ready. He was looking forward to a cozy movie night together.
However, that was just his imagination.
Paulette was already asleep.
She didn’t have her guard up against Jeremiah, the door wasn’t locked, and there was even a crack open.

Jeremiah stood at the door for a moment, and suddenly saw the woman sleeping on the bed, still wearing her shoes.
So, she didn’t mean to not leave the light on for him, she just accidentally fell asleep.
I felt a bit better in my heart.
He lowered his eyes in self–mockery and let out a sigh.
I gently pushed the door open and walked in.
Carefully lifting up one side of the blanket, I took off the woman’s
slippers, my hand passing under her waist, and then I princess–carried her into the blanket.
Even so, Paulette still didn’t wake up.
She just turned over and then continued to sleep peacefully.

Paulette did fall asleep accidentally. She was originally using her phone to look up information, but the drowsiness hit her out of nowhere, and she ended up sleeping until morning.
I just finished cleaning up and then I heard a noise at the door.
Looking up, a man in sportswear caught my eye.
She exclaimed, “Jeremiah, do you still have the habit of morning running? So disciplined!”
“‘Yeah, just running around.” Jeremiah handed her the breakfast without mentioning that he hadn’t slept at all. “How about you? How did you sleep last night?”
“Great, I was looking up information yesterday and ended up being so tired that I went to bed early.”
Paulette thought it was strange when talking about this.
She was clearly sleeping on top of the blanket, but somehow managed to get herself under the covers? Oh well, she’s never been very honest when she sleeps, so I didn’t think much of it.”
Jeremiah gave her a deep look and asked, “Did you find the information you wanted?”
“Almost.”
Paulette didn’t pay any attention to his mood, he brought breakfast to the table and said, “Applying for graduate school is not difficult for me, many of the questions in the test are ones I have practiced before, anyway, I have nothing else to do, so I might as well study more.”
