Chapter 26
Caroline, who woke up in the hospital room, found it difficult to explain her fainting spell at first.
“Carol, you had low blood sugar and were getting a nutrition injection. Later, you can come with me to see Joshua.”
Lindsey brought her breakfast and stood by her bed, speaking gently.
The two children grew up together as childhood playmates and naturally ended up together as they got older.
Lindsey always treated Caroline as her own daughter. When she saw Caroline fainting in the hallway, they were both shocked.
Luckily, there was a doctor nearby, so when I fainted, someone came over to check on me right away.
They found out that she fainted just because she hadn’t eaten breakfast and was too upset, so they breathed a sigh of relief.
“Mrs. Kimble, Joshua…he…”
Watching Caroline’s eyes turn red and her voice start to choke, Lindsey couldn’t help but feel her nose start to tingle.
“It’s okay, Carol. Joshua must be fine. You should get your injection first, have something to eat later, and then we’ll go see him together.”
Seeing Caroline nodding her head and lying back down again, Lindsey felt heartbroken.
These two children were originally going to get married. Both families had already set the date and were just waiting for the two of them to graduate before holding the wedding.
Some time ago, Joshua suddenly said he wanted to cancel the engagement. His father even scolded him, but later they found out it was Carol who wanted to cancel it.
Joshua assured them that it was just a temporary cancellation, perhaps Carol was experiencing pre–wedding jitters, and they would reschedule.

Now I realize that, in just half a year, these two people have actually gone through so much.
Tristan, the eldest brother, also did the same. Despite so many things happening, he still helped his younger brother hide it from the family.
Watching two children lying on a sickbed, one sad and heartbroken, Lindsey couldn’t help but feel a surge of bitterness in her heart. She just couldn’t understand, did that person named Kelly have to destroy these two children in order to feel at ease?
“Carol, I’m here. Did you eat something?”
After finishing the paperwork, Charleson rushed to the hospital only to find out that Caroline had fainted. When he arrived to see her, only the nurse was giving her an injection.
Seeing that she was still asleep, I went downstairs to buy her some food. To my surprise, when I came back up, someone had already bought food for her.
“Hello, Auntie, who are you?”
Setting down their breakfast, Charleson greeted Lindsey, wondering if this could possibly be Caroline’s mother.
“Hello, I am Joshua’s mother. Carol’s aunt, my surname is Blake. Are you Carol’s classmate?”
Lindsey looked at the boy in front of her, handsome and sunny, and called Caroline “Carol“?
Did Joshua still hide something from his family? This boy… could he be Caroline’s new boyfriend?
“Hello auntie, hello auntie, I am Carol from a school, my name is Charleson We are good friends.”
Charleson laughed as he watched Lindsey sizing him up, knowing exactly what she was thinking. He probably thought he was going to steal her daughter–in–law.
Unfortunately, he did indeed intend to abduct.
“Don’t be polite, have a seat. You guys chat, I’ll go check on Joshua.”
After speaking, Lindsey lovingly touched Caroline’s pale face and softly instructed, “Carol, have something to cat. After getting the injection, come over. Auntie will go first.”
“Okay Caroline’s eyes welled up with tears again, “I’ll be right there after I finish the injection.
Lindsey walked out, then couldn’t help but look back at Caroline, who was about to cry.
She shook her head, knowing she had overthought it. Caroline’s demeanor had a hint of infatuation.
This child may not even know how much he loved Joshua.
