Chapter 4
Bradley really struggled to put out the flames, his fair hands were blistered.
He was so angry that he was shaking, glaring at me furiously.
“Monica, what do these things mean to us, have you forgotten? How could you burn them!”
Bradley knew I was sentimental, so he sent me these things to help me remember the good times. I forgive him for the sake of our old friendship.
This was his unique way of giving steps, proud and subtle,
If it were in the past, I would definitely have followed his steps without hesitation, compromised, and chosen to forgive him.
I’ve been trying to cheer up Bradley for so long, I’m really tired.
This time, I don’t want to coax anymore, I don’t want to step down his steps anymore.
I didn’t even look up, just asked casually.
“Weren’t these old things the ones you sent over for me to deal with?”
“Anyway, it’s useless to keep it, might as well burn it.”
Bradley stared at me in disbelief, as if he didn’t expect me to be so calm.
After a while, he finally explained helplessly, “Monica, come on, don’t be mad. I admit that last time you pointed out Iris’s problem at the company, it was for the greater good. The reason I asked you to apologize was just because Iris is Mr. Poole’s daughter.”
“I know I hurt your feelings, I apologize, okay? You come back as vice president, on the same level as Iris, try not to interfere with her affairs in the future. Is that okay?”
I silently watched Bradley, thinking it was funny.
Many times outside of work, he still showed favoritism towards Iris as always.
I still remember when I had a bad cold before, I was bedridden and needed him to take care of me urgently, but he left me at home and ignored me because
of Iris.
On our sixth wedding anniversary, just because Iris said she wanted to see fireworks, he bought the whole city’s fireworks to set off for Iris, while I was left alone at home, staring at the cold food and sitting until dawn.
Looks like he told so many lies that he even started to believe them himself.
I couldn’t be bothered to expose Bradley’s contradictions.
Seeing that I was silent, he continued on his own, “But there’s one condition, I hope you apologize to Iris before joining the company, after all, you did hit
her last time.”
“As long as she forgives you, you can go back to the company.”
Upon hearing this, I couldn’t help but burst out laughing.
“Bradley, you’re feeling a bit too good about yourself. Did I say I wanted to go back to the company? Let me apologize to Iris, to be honest, she really
doesn’t deserve it.”
When I said that, Bradley couldn’t hold back his face.
But then he quickly remembered why he came here, took out a wedding invitat711
The invitation had our names written on it.
I looked at Bradley in confusion, not sure what he was up to again.
Bradley sighed and spoke with a hint of frustration.
from his bag.
“Monica, stop messing around. Look, this is our wedding invitation. I’ve already booked the venue, bought the wedding candies, and invited all the
guests.”
“I will definitely do what I promised you. Three days later, we will have the wedding and officially announce our relationship. Now, are you finally not angry anymore?”
We’ve been together for years, he had many chances to marry me, to make it official, but he waited until I was emotionally dead to give me a title.

meeting.
And me, I didn’t care a long time ago.
Before I could refuse, Bradley had already rudely shoved the invitation into my hand.
“Get yourself ready these days, I’ll pick you up in three days.”
With that, he turned around and left.
But he didn’t know, he was destined to be disappointed.
Because three days later was the day I started at the new company.
This time, I won’t give up my future for Bradley anymore.
Bradley had just left when Iris texted me.
“Monica, I heard Bradley wants to marry you, don’t get too excited!”
“As long as I’m here, there’s no way this wedding is happening! Don’t believe me? Let’s give it a try!”
Soon, I understood what she meant by those words.
