Chapter 10
Amber’s POV
After saying goodbye to my parents, Carter and I were just about to leave for our honeymoon.
But the moment we stepped outside, we saw him.
Grayson was standing at the gates in the pouring rain. He was soaked to the bone, his face ghostly pale, lips tinged blue from the cold.
The second he saw us, he rushed forward, voice hoarse and trembling.
“Amber… I’m sorry. I swear I know I was wrong,”
Rain streamed down his face, mixing with tears.
*I didn’t realize how manipulative Piper was. She kept me close under the guise of friendship You warned me so many times, and I never listened. I misjudged you from the very beginning.”
His eyes were bloodshot, but I felt… nothing. No rage. No heartbreak. Just peace.
He finally understood what I had suffered. But it was far too late.
He reached out with
with shaking hands and grabbed mine.
“I called you stupid. I yelled at you. I hurt you in every
ery possible way…
and I know
ow that now. I’ll change, I swear I will.”

“But one thing I never lied about–Piper’s always been a man to me. I’ve already rejected the mate bond with her.”
Η
“Please come back to the pack with me.”

I pulled my
hand away,
cold and calm.
Grayson flinched, his eyes still clinging to that final thread of hope.
“Are you done?” 1 asked flatly. “Then get lost.”
His body jerked like I’d slapped him. He clutched at his chest and staggered back, eyes brimming with tears.
“Amber is there really no going back for us?”
If I hadn’t lived through everything he put me through, I might’ve believed his performance.
I sighed, annoyed. “Do whatever you want. Stand in the rain for all I care.”
Just as I linked arms with Carter, I heard Grayson’s voice crack behind me.
“Amber!
He stood there like a broken man, drenched and trembling, staring at me in disbelief. The girl who once clung to his every word was no longer standing. before him, and the realization shattered him.
Then, like something inside him finally snapped, he lunged forward and tried to grab me.
Carter instantly stepped between us, shielding me with his body.
“Try it, and I’ll knock your teeth out,” he said, voice colder than ice.
Blinded by rage, Grayson lashed out.
He aimed a punch at Carter, but Carter dodged w with ease and slammed a side–lick into his ribs,
Grayson flew backward and landed hard in a puddle, soaked in mud and humiliation
“Don’t make me do worse,” Carter said as he rolled up his sleeves, ready to go again, but I quickly held him back.
“Don’t bother. You’ll ruin your clothes, and we’ll miss our flight.”
Turned to the guards. “Please remove him.”
But before they could move, Grayson struggled to his feet.
He didn’t fight.
He just turned around and stumbled off into the night like a drowned stray. Clupter 10
A few days later, I heard the rest of the story.
Tobias had caused a massive uproar in the pack, and under mounting pressure, Alpha Declan finally gave in Grayson married Piper, and she became his

One of the surgeries went wrong. She lost the baby.
From then on, every time Grayson got near her,

It wasn’t just mental. His wolf rejected her.
After months of this, he finally told her it was over. He wanted the mate bond severed.
Piper threatened to hurt herself.
He left anyway.
But she wasn’t done.
Pretending to accept the breakup, she asked to meet one last time
Then she slammed her foot on the gas and ran him down.
Grayson survived–but his legs didn’t
Piper died on the spot.
When I got the news, a chill crept down my spine.
Piper’s love had always been obsessive, destructive–fatal
Anyone who got too close was doomed.
As for Grayson be’d made his choices.
Now, he had to live with the consequences.
